One man *******, another hurt after interaction led to ********* outside vehicle in KC

One man ***** at a hospital after two people were shot Monday morning in Kansas City, police said.

Just after 3 a.m., Kansas City police officers responded to a report of gunfire in the area of Roberts Street and Bales Avenue, according to Sgt. Phil DiMartino, a Kansas City Police Department spokesperson.

Police’s preliminary investigation discovered there was an interaction between several people outside of a vehicle which led to shots being fired, DiMartino said.

When officers arrived at the scene, an ****** male was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid to the victim who was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to DiMartino. A second ****** male traveled in a private vehicle to a local hospital, where he was pronounced *****.

Police are investigating the incident as a *********. No suspects have been identified as of Monday morning.

The man’s ****** marks the 126th ********* reported in Kansas City in 2024, according to data collected by The Star.
