There’s not a single horror fan under the sun who hasn’t heard of Alien Isolation. Kicking off as a movie series, the franchise turned into a survival horror game that scared everyone to oblivion as a gamer.

It’s been ten years since the release of the first game, and due to the forced negative reception around it, many thought that a sequel would never see the light of the day. However, developer Creative Assembly has announced that a sequel for Alien Isolation is in the works, proving a masterpiece can’t be defeated.

/X account for the game. Creative Assembly is currently in the early stages of crafting the sequel, as noted by director Al Hope in the shared message.

Hope also thanked players for continuing to support the game since its debut in October 2014, stating how fun it was seeing gamers’ reaction to the authentic experience that he helped craft.

While an Alien Isolation 2 announcement is a great one, it isn’t surprising considering that gamers had been rallying around the project despite critics absolutely hating the game upon its release. If you’ve forgotten, many reviews initially bashed the game for its pacing and repetitive objectives, which, according to them, made the game a terrible experience.

However, fans of the franchise have always loved Alien Isolation‘s overall tension and believe that it is a fantastic recreation of the Alien movie’s universe. It’s going to be interesting to see how developers take the franchise to the next level with this sequel, as it’s a series with sky-high potential.

Why it Took Creative Assembly 10 Years to Create Alien Isolation Sequel

As we’ve said before, despite all the backlash from critics, fans of the franchise have been clamoring for a sequel to Alien Isolation since its release back in 2014. It makes you wonder why Creative Assembly waited for a decade to craft a sequel when they could’ve carried on the momentum during that time.

Well, it took ten years for the developer to plan a sequel due to setbacks and cancellations with various other projects’. You might’ve forgotten, but Creative Assembly was working on a big-budget FPS, Hyenas, which debuted at IGN’s Summer Gaming Showcasing.

However, after the reveal, the project dipped into shadows and was ultimately axed by ***** in 2023. Even Total War: Pharaohs proved to be a massive flop on its debut, which ultimately led to another round of layoffs.

However, things are now looking much better for Creative Assembly as it is developing a new Star Wars game and is now diverting resources to the much-anticipated follow-up to Alien Isolation that gamers can’t wait to get their hands on.
