Perth’s New Year’s Eve celebrations are set for an overhaul, with Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas unveiling new plans to have a Sydney-like fireworks extravaganza at midnight.

For the first time, New Year’s revellers will have their own midnight fireworks show on the Swan River at Elizabeth Quay.
