Star NSW apprentice jockey Zac Lloyd has been lucky to escape serious injury when hurled against the running rail in a freakish accident ahead of rich Sydney race rides for leading trainers on Saturday.

Three-year-old grey stayer Fiftyfivechevy shocked when he veered erratically and attempted to jump railing as Lloyd cantered him to the start of Thursday’s third Kembla Grange race.
