Former St Kilda ruckman Michael Gardiner says former teammate Andrew McQualter was destined to coach

Andrew McQualter’s former St Kilda teammate Michael Gardiner says the man known as “Mini” was always destined to be a coach.

McQualter was announced as the Eagles’ seventh coach on Monday morning after winning the race to succeed Adam Simpson, beating out Collingwood assistant Hayden Skipworth and Geelong’s Steven King.
