Environmental ‘win’, major seismic testing plan dropped

Plans for seismic testing in Bass Strait across an area half the size of Tasmania have been abandoned after community, conservationist and fishing industry opposition.

International firm TGS proposed dropping blasts over 31,500sq km in the Otway Basin, waters between Victoria and the island state’s northwest coast.
