Australians like to think the health system is fair and equitable. But increasingly — and concerningly — that appears to be no longer the case.

All-too-frequent obstetrics unit closures in regional WA, as well as some in private hospitals in the city, are exposing an imbalance in the system that goes against the idea that patients have a choice, and will be afforded the right care.
