Match of the day or Last Night of the Proms? Well, it’s both!

The Last Night of the Proms had an unexpected twist this year, as Match of the Day (MotD) host Gary Lineker tried his hand at some classical music commentary.

Lineker was joined by pundits Joe Hart and Danny Murphy, as they gave their take on the evening’s events.

This unusual MotD appearance comes as the football commentary show marks it’s 60th anniversary.

Proms presenter Katie Derham said the event marked “an incredible summer of live music and sport” with “a fond musical tribute to all the sporting theme tunes we know and love”.
