At first glance, the news that the sentencing in Donald Trump’s New York ********* trial has been scheduled for after the presidential election seems like a win for Trump, but what is also possible, and even likely, is that Judge Merchan put the date after the election because he intends for the sentence to include “confinement,” either at home or in jail, and he did not want such a dramatic sentence to influence the election.
