Stage set for local soccer grand finals this weekend

Twin City squares off against Kalgoorlie College in Sunday’s A-grade men’s grand final after both clubs won their respective Goldfields Soccer Association semifinals last weekend.

Both wins were emphatic — Twin City accounted for Boulder City, 7-2, on two conversions from Hamish Rietkerk.

In the other game, Sam Ricketts scored two goals in College’s 7-1 triumph over Celtic.

Sunday’s respective finals are at 10am (women), 12.30pm (B-grade) and 3pm (A-grade).

College defend their women’s title against Celtic and Twin City play College in the B-grade decider.

The junior grand finals will be played on Saturday.

Juniors:

Under-11: Boulder Joeys d O’Connor Thunder 3-1; Boulder Swans d Celtic 3-1.

Under-12: Twin City Boomers d O’Connor Storm 7-1; Kalgoorlie College d Boulder Joeys 5-0.

Under-14: Boulder Joeys d Boulder Swans 3-1 on penalties; Twin City Scorchers d Twin City ******* 2-0.

Under-16: Kalgoorlie College d Twin City 14-1; Boulder City d Celtic 12-3.

Grand finals:

Under-11: Boulder Joeys v Boulder Swans.

Under-12: Twin City Boomers v Kalgoorlie College.

Under-14: Boulder Joeys v Twin City Scorchers.

Under -6: Kalgoorlie College v Boulder.

Senior semifinals:

Women: Kalgoorlie College d Twin City 7-0; Celtic d Boulder 1-0.

Grand final: Kalgoorlie College v Celtic.
