Missy Higgins will front this Monday’s *********** Story

She wowed audiences with a gorgeous rendition of her moving song The Sound of White at the TV Week Logie Awards last month.

Now, singer-songwriter Missy Higgins is returning to TV, this time as the subject of Monday’s *********** Story.

The episode, presented by Leigh Sales, will see Higgins, who burst on to the *********** music scene in 2001 after winning triple j’s Unearthed song competition, open up about her career, life, and the challenges she has faced, particularly in the past few years after the dissolution of her marriage.

According to an official release, she “retraces her rise to the top and reveals the emotional turmoil that’s defined her past couple of years”.

“I’m definitely not pretending to have any of the answers, or to be strong or to even like myself much at the moment,” Missy tells *********** Story, before explaining she is ready to write her next chapter via new music.

“We’ve all written such strong narratives for ourselves, and then you come to a point in your life where it’s like, ‘actually that’s not your narrative anymore, that’s burned to the ground’,” she told the program.

The ARIA award-winning singer has enjoyed a stellar career since arriving on the *********** music scene in while still in high school.

Her debut album, The Sound of White, ******** one of the country’s biggest-selling albums, having sold more than a million copies and picked up six ARIA awards.

*********** Story airs September 6 at 8pm on ABC.
