Wilbinga ******: Two men airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital following collision in Shire of Gingin

Two men have been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a major ****** north of Perth.

The RAC rescue helicopter was sent to the scene after a car and a motorcycle crashed on Wilbinga Road in Wilbinga, about 70km north of Perth, just before 9am.

St John WA dispatched five crews — including its special operations paramedics — to the scene, which was on a bush trail in Wilbinga.

A man in his 40s and a man in his 60s were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The helicopter arrived at the hospital about 12.50pm, a St John WA spokeswoman confirmed.

St John WA’s specialist paramedic crews are trained to navigate hazardous incidents, with expertise in difficult extrication across a range of landscapes, including industrial sites, beaches, bushland and water-based settings.

A permanent special operations crew has been operational seven days a week since the beginning of the year in a bid to enhance emergency ambulance and specialist rescue responses across WA.
