Work under way on project to ‘drought-proof’ Laverton by tapping into unused bores

Work is under way on a project set to “drought-proof” a remote Goldfields town by tapping into unused groundwater bores.

The bores will boost water supply to the town of Laverton — about 360km north-east of Kalgoorlie-Boulder — a move Shire of Laverton chief executive Phil Marshall said would leave the town with ample supply into the future.
