Gaming continues to expand exponentially across all types of current devices and technologies. For example, Tesla cars can now run several of the most popular titles seamlessly on their vehicle screens.

Given the success of Elon Musk’s company’s implementation, the ******* automotive giant is now considering incorporating this feature into its upcoming models. Volkswagen has partnered with the Airconsole platform to allow gamers to play in their cars using their Android phones as controllers.

As is often the case with technology, there’s always a company that sets trends by implementing things that others haven’t dared to try. In this case, Tesla has been adding video games to its vehicle screens for various years.

This is all so that users can play during waiting moments or other similar situations. The chosen titles are quite varied and very much in tune for playing multiplayer and casual experiences.

Thanks to this initiative, the ******* company Volkswagen has now also confirmed that it will implement a series of video games on the new screens of certain selected models.

These video games will arrive thanks to a collaboration with the platform known as Airconsole, which allows players to use a common screen and sync their cell phones as controllers for the games. This kind of feature is quite new for the brand.

Airconsole Reaches More Car Brands

One of Airconsole’s unique features is that most of its game selection for vehicles is more related to classic party games. This platform offers a variety of indie games, including Golazo, Whack *******, Overcooked!, and many others.

Many of these titles are not triple-A like the ones in the Tesla cars, but they will still play an important role in passing the time during a long trip or while waiting. The selection of games is thought of as family-friendly.

The Volkswagen vehicles that will have the option to use this platform are the new models of Passat, Tourer, Golf, Tiguan, and Golf Estate.

Many of these models will receive the necessary display update with the games, and the platform will be added by mid-September for some models and by early 2025 for others. These kinds of initiatives are always positive for recreational vehicles, making the ecosystem much more user-friendly.

The fact that none of Airconsole’s games require multiple controls to fully enjoy is one of its most notable features. Many of these indie titles use only one or two buttons to allow for group play and a good time.

In the future, the brand decides to add more complex games to the various displays of its newer models. This kind of concept in the cars is being added more often to make the vehicle more comfortable than ever, especially for the families.
