Attention, troopers, for the long wait is nearly over. After over a year of waiting, Starship Troopers Extermination, the FPS sci-fi shooter, will soon leave early access and have its official launch.

The game is a return to the beloved universe of Starship Troopers, which audiences have loyally followed for decades. Fans have been bubbling with excitement over the recent announcement, and a beloved figure of the franchise knows just what to do to ramp up the hype.

Johnny Rico’s Rise in the Starship Trooper Franchise

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Johnny Rico is a name that carries a lot of weight. He’s the protagonist of the original Starship Troopers film and has since become an iconic figure in the sci-fi genre.

Casper Van Dien brought him to life in the 1997 movie, and since then, Rico’s journey from a young soldier to a seasoned leader has been a delight to witness.

There’s been a lot of excitement around the final release of Starship Troopers Extermination, and even Van Dien can’t stop himself from engaging in the hype.

The news is cause for celebration, and his way of doing it might be simple, but it’s enough to get fans pumped.

The new teaser image shows Rico in all his battle-hardened, veteran glory. It’s good to see the General ready for some real action, and people haven’t been holding back from letting Van Dien know, either.

General Rico will be an important figure in the solo campaign. Players will join the Elite Operations Group within the Mobile Infantry, fighting to protect humanity from the relentless Bug threat across 25 unique missions.

Rico’s got a strong command of his troops and is dedicated to the cause against the Bugs, but refuses to let his soldiers lose their lives carelessly. Survival over victory.

Offworld Industries has confirmed that the depiction of Rico in the game is canon within the franchise’s universe.
