Creators of Resident Evil and No More Heroes, Shinji Mikami and Suda51 Want To Make Killer7 Follow Up Together

Resident Evil creators Goichi Suda, also known by his alias Suda 51, and Shinji Mikami have shown an interest in developing a sequel to the 2005 video game Killer7. Both individuals have co-written the game but that was it. Suda was always interested in the sequel, as the game is “part of his soul.”

A video game dubbed “******* is *****” was released by Grasshopper Manufacturing, and fans spread the word that it was a sequel. Later, it was clarified that it had nothing to do with the 2005 game.

One of Resident Evil Creators Might Call it Killer7: Beyond

Its unconventional visual style has made Killer7 distinct from its contemporaries. Fans would love to see that experience continue alongside some new narrative.

But then there’s Capcom, that has got the IP rights to the game. They need to grant that permission to whoever’s willing to advance the development of the game.

Both individuals attended Gamescom 2024, where they were interviewed by multiple gaming publications. Suda shared a picture of themselves sitting together on social media platform X (formerly

, one of the Resident Evil creators said that he would love to see Goichi Suda create a sequel to the Grasshopper Manufacture game. Suda does have an interest in it, he said that,

I’d rather make a Complete Edition first. And then Killer11.

Furthermore, he was asked what would be the title of the game. To that, he said that it might be called Killer7: Beyond.

The Game was Supposed to be Three Times ******* than it Actually is

Killer7 was supposed to be a ******* game than it actually is. The story of the game spans around an hour, where players assume the role of one of the Smiths, the assassins featured in it. Coyote Smith ******** the fan-favorite character in the game.

After internal testing and feedback given by Goichi Suda, two-thirds of the plot, along with its map, were cut short by the team. But they worked on the game’s controls to make it a cakewalk for the users. It was then released a couple of days earlier than its release, on July 5, 2005.

Following its release, it had a mixed reception. Still, it was recognized for its innovative style. Some noted that its GameCube version was better than the PlayStation 2 version in terms of graphics and loading time.

We cannot exactly say if Capcom will allow the next game in the series to be developed. But if permission for it is granted, it could be a display of immense passion, given how inclined Suda is towards Killer7.

Do you think a sequel to the game will ever see the light of day? We would like to know about it in the comments section below.
