Monster Hunter Wilds Will Apparently Be Limited To 30 FPS On Consoles, Much To the Disappointment of Fans

For the most part, Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise has managed to remain true to its guns, offering gamers everything they’ve expected from a Monster Hunter game, with a few innovations here and there. However, the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds looks to be a completely different story.

Sure, not everything in the upcoming Monster Hunter game is brand new, but Capcom seems to have taken the franchise’s beloved formula and bent the rules enough to give us an installment that feels like a fresh experience that ultimately relies on its well-established base. Unfortunately, it looks like the game’s console’s experience might be jeopardized due to it being locked to 30 FPS.

Gamers Can’t Understand Why Monster Hunter Wilds is Locked to 30 FPS on Consoles

One of the prominent content creators, MH_canta, took to X/

recently to reveal that they had their first-hand experience with Monster Hunter Wilds at the Gamescom 2024. They shared their overall impressions and gave us some interesting details about upcoming game.

However, the most surprising thing the creator revealed was related to the game’s performance on modern consoles. It seems like Monster Hunter Wilds will be locked to 30 FPS for console players.

The creator did go on to mention that they couldn’t do further in-depth testing due to time constraints, so some of the information might be a little inaccurate. However, the gaming community is already alarmed and can’t believe Capcom is doing this yet again.

It’s absolutely mind-boggling how such a hyped game is locked to 30 FPS, even though modern-day consoles are well-equipped with hardware that could push the game to its limits.

However, we can’t ignore the fact that since it was a demo for Monster Hunter Wilds at the event, there’s a high chance that it could’ve been an early build. This means that the developers still haven’t applied the finishing touches to the game.

Considering it’s going to be a long while before we see the game, there’s plenty of time for the studio to iron out the creases and bring 60 FPS to consoles. According to many players who experienced the demo at Gamescom, the game was quite smooth at 30 FPS, which is already a step above Dragon’s Dogma 2.

When is Monster Hunter Wilds Coming Out?

Ever since the studio revealed Monster Hunter Wilds, gamers have been hyped, waiting to see what the studio could bring to the table with the next installment in the franchise. One of the most hot topics regarding the game is its release date.

Unfortunately, there’s still no specific release date for the game. The studio has confirmed that the title will be released sometime in 2025. It’s going to be a while before we get our hands on the game, but that’s for the best, as developers are trying their best to create a title that isn’t a buggy mess at launch.

The game will be ready to play on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5, and PC. It’s unlikely that we’ll ever get a Nintendo Switch release, as the handheld’s hardware simply can’t handle the game.
