Fanboys Are Now Making Outrageous Claims About Helldivers 2 and Spider-Man Coming To Xbox

The unexpected success of Helldivers 2 was a surprise from Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment. The gaming community found all the features they had been looking for in a perfect online multiplayer game and the developers passed with flying colors and shared it to the PC player base.

The live service game is in the grey area for what one may consider a PlayStation exclusive since it is also playable on PC; however, there are no plans of porting the game along with other Sony first-party exclusives, but the Xbox community is convinced these games will be shared.

The Xbox Community Is Optimistic About Sony Porting Helldivers 2

Sony Interactive Entertainment struck gold after the gaming company decided to gamble on the ambitious live service project of Arrowhead Game Studios a few years ago, and a few months ago, the game was hailed as one of the best multiplayer experiences. Director Johan Pilestedt admitted that Helldivers 2 would never see the light of day without the support from Sony.

The game was the first major attempt for Sony to dip its toes in the online multiplayer arena then the company decided to expand its reach by porting it to PC and enabling crossplay that bridged together two different player bases. Sony thrived on high-quality single-player games and

enthusiasts are confident these games will be ported to the Xbox platform in time.

Mr Boomstick continued elaborating on his opinion of what Sony should do with these older exclusives since these games are no longer selling like they used to. The YouTuber suggested that the wise move would be selling them to other customers beyond the company’s target market and claimed the live service game would have shadow-dropped last month.

Times are changing and Shawn Layden, the former president of PlayStation, agrees with Phil Spencer‘s initiative to abolish the idea of console or platform exclusivity. Layden cited Helldivers 2 as a positive form of exclusivity whereas games that are expensive to produce, like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, may be a step in the wrong direction.

Games will lose their value over time and Mr Boomstick suggested that Sony should consider thinking outside the box and look for more customers. Other Xbox enthusiasts like KidSmoove share this opinion and believe Sony must return the favor for sharing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Sony Has a Vested Interest in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Is Protective About It

Mr Boomstick’s logic is sound; however, Sony is already doing that just not on the rival platform platform. PC players are being spoiled with first-party exclusives like **** of War, Uncharted, Horizon, and The Last of Us and are making money back from years collecting dust.

Sony is doing well without the support of another player base and will continue to thrive. First-party games are still selling well and will likely be shipped to PC instead.

These games have stood well against the test of time better than the few Xbox first-party games. PlayStation is doing fine with the current formula.

Supplying a rival platform with Sony’s strongest asset would likely be awkward. Sony wants to keep its games on a platform they can control with a large player base.
