Eaton netballers get boost from Woolworths with new grant

Netball players, coaches and supporters in Eaton have been given a boost as they share in $100,000 from the Woolworths Pick Fresh Play Fresh Netball Grant.

Eaton Netball Association received a grant of $8000 which president Tamara Irwin said would help the club net more goals.

“Receiving the Woolworths Pick Fresh Play Fresh Netball Grant was such an absolute surprise — we honestly could not believe we were selected,” she said.

“It means that we can continue with our goals of becoming a truly inclusive sporting association and offer our community programs at lower fees.

“Our aim is to build our NetSetGo program and encourage young children to develop the motor skills that netball brings. We also offer a unique development program for up-and-coming netballers and would love to be able to extend this further.”

Ms Irwin said it would also help provide new equipment and future programs.

“We would also like to offer new programs such as No Limits (for students with intellectual disability) and extend our high school mixed netball program,” she said.

“We plan to purchase new equipment for NetSetGo specifically, but also for our development program and new uniforms for the development program as the current ones are very old.

“We hope that our association can be the place that provides inclusive, community netball and assist our junior netballers to be the best they can be.”
