Trump picking Matt Gaetz for AG puts House ****, ***** probe in focus
Multiple *********** senators gave a chilly reception to President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Matt Gaetz for U.S. attorney general, putting the former Florida congressman’s odds of being confirmed by the Senate in question.
The surprise announcement Wednesday, and Gaetz’s swift resignation from Congress, also drew attention to a House Ethics Committee probe into allegations that Gaetz engaged in ******* misconduct, illicit ***** use and other wrongdoing.
Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, a *********** on the judiciary panel that will decide whether to advance Gaetz’s nomination to the full Senate, said Thursday morning that he “absolutely” wants to see the Ethics report.
“I think there should not be any limitation on the Senate Judiciary committee’s investigation, including whatever the House Ethics Committee is generated,” Cornyn told reporters on Capitol Hill.
He added that while “it’s ********** to count votes,” there are “a lot of questions.”
Gaetz had previously been embroiled in a federal investigation into whether he was involved in the **** trafficking of a 17-year-old girl. That probe, which ended last year without charges being filed, was conducted by the Department of Justice — the agency Gaetz would lead if he were confirmed as attorney general.
Gaetz has denied all of the allegations against him. In September, he declared he would stop cooperating with the House panel, while sharing a letter in which he vehemently denied having “******* activity with any individual under 18.”
On Thursday, an attorney for the woman who alleges she had a ******* relationship with Gaetz when she was a minor, said the Ethics panel should release the report.
“Mr. Gaetz’s likely nomination as Attorney General is a perverse development in a truly dark series of events. We would support the House Ethics Committee immediately releasing their report,” John Clune, a partner at Hutchinson ****** and Cook, wrote on X.
“She was a high school student and there were witnesses,” the lawyer added.
A lawyer for Gaetz did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
Calls for the committee to release its report have become more pressing given the unusual sequence of events surrounding Trump’s announcement.
Trump’s selection of Gaetz and the lawmaker’s decision to abruptly resign from Congress the same day, came just two days before the panel was set to vote on releasing its report on the **** and ***** probe, Punchbowl News reported Wednesday, citing sources.
Gaetz’s resignation effectively ends the Ethics Committee probe, because the panel’s reach is limited to members of the House.
Chairman Michael Guest, R-Miss., told reporters Wednesday that if Gaetz were to step down in order to seek the attorney general role, “then the Ethics Committee loses jurisdiction at that point.”
The Ethics panel was slated to meet Thursday behind closed doors, a source familiar with the situation told NBC. It was unclear whether the committee would discuss Gaetz or vote on the report during that confidential meeting.

Several Senate Republicans reacted with bewilderment and skepticism Wednesday about Gaetz being chosen to lead the Justice Department.
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said she was “shocked” by the decision and predicted that there will be “a lot of questions asked” if his nomination proceeds.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, said she did not believe Gaetz was “a serious nomination for the attorney general.”
Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., another member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said, “I’m all about counting votes, and I would probably think he’s got some work cut out for him.”
Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, said of Gaetz’s expected nomination: “He’s got his work cut out for him.”
But others appeared ready to back Gaetz’s bid.
Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, the judiciary panel’s ranking ***********, said in a press release Thursday afternoon that, “Generally speaking, I vote for confirmation regardless of party or personal feelings because that is my Constitutional role as a Senator.”
“I will do the same for President Trump’s nominees,” Graham said in the statement, which was sent in an email with the subject line, “Elections Have Consequences.”
Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., said Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that “there’s no problem with me. I want to see President Trump’s Cabinet appointed quickly.”
Hagerty said “there has been no one better at channeling the ********* public’s frustration with the weaponization of the Department of Justice than Matt Gaetz.”
When Republicans take control of the Senate in January, they are projected to have a slim majority of two or three seats. Assuming all Senate Democrats vote against Gaetz’s nomination, Trump can only afford a few GOP defections before he would lose the simple majority required to confirm his pick for AG.
Trump has demanded that the next Senate *********** leader agree to send senators home for at least 10 days in order to pave the way for Trump to make “recess appointments,” which would allow him to install Cabinet members and bypass individual confirmation votes altogether.
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., after being selected to replace retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell as majority leader, said Wednesday that Republicans will “explore all options” to make sure Trump’s nominees move forward quickly.

A treasure hunt is taking place across the state of Colorado thanks to a man on a mission to give thousands of dollars away to bless others.
“The Miracle Man” is keeping his identity anonymous as he gives away lumps of cash to his more than 100,000 followers on social media.
Each day, he picks a different town to hide his stash of cash and gives clues on his Instagram page showing recognizable locations as to where to find it.
Sometimes it is in Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs, or a smaller town in between.
Once the clues are posted, people immediately go out and treasure hunt.
“I just put it towards bill, groceries – whatever,” one gentleman told ABC News.
The man leaving stashes of cash around Colorado only started his Instagram account in early August and it has quickly grown. But that’s not the only reason he’s called “Miracle Man”.
In 2013, he had a fatal heart ******* and was pronounced ***** for 15 minutes before waking up in the ICU.
What happened during the time that he was ***** is a remarkable testimony to the power of prayer – someone prayed him back to life.
“The guy that found me prayed over my body and asked **** if there was a mission for him, to bring him back, if not take him, and then I came back,” the “Miracle Man” told KDVR, a local Fox News affiliate.
He later told ABC News that while he was *****, he got a visit from his older brother, who had ***** a few years earlier.
“He put his arm around me, like around my shoulder, and he said, ‘You have a lot to look forward to, enjoy your life,'” he told the outlet.
He says **** also told him to simply spread light to others. Now, he’s on a mission to honor what he calls his second life.
“It can be taken away from you so quickly. Why not go down sharing what I’ve got,” he said.
“Anytime you’ve been given a second life, that life is no longer about yourself, it’s about what you can do to do your part, to be better, to make the community a better place,” he also shared.
The “Miracle Man” has given away more than $20,000 of his own personal money in the last four months.
“It brings people together who may unlikely come together. It’s every walk of life: young, old, kids, families, partners. Bring them all together to get outside and stay active,” he said.

I was on the fence about Astral Chain from the day the first trailer came out until a good few hours into my playthrough. It all felt a little too generic, almost a paint-by-numbers rendition of an action game. I needn’t have been so worried, as it’s one of the more original titles to come from PlatinumGames, the developer behind the Bayonetta series, in recent years.
In a future where the world is under constant ******* from creatures that exist on another plane of existence, you play as an officer in a special force that deals with this threat. The game’s gimmick is that you can tame these creatures to become Legions that you use in combat. Encounters play out with you controlling both your character and the Legion simultaneously to deal with waves of mobs and larger, more challenging enemies. As well as for combat, you’ll use your Legion(s) to solve ******* and traverse environments.
Astral Chain sticks closely to a loop of detective work, platforming puzzles and combat — a little too closely, if I’m being critical — with the game split into cases that serve as chapters. The story starts off well enough but quickly devolves into a mashup of various anime tropes, including twists and arcs ripped straight from some very famous shows and films. However, the minute-to-minute gameplay is enough to keep you engaged through the 20-hour or so main campaign and into the fairly significant end-game content.
Does Astral Chain reach the heights of Nier: Automata? No, not at all, but its combat and environments can often surpass that game, which all-told is probably my favorite of this generation. Often available for under $50 these days, it’s well worth your time.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell speaks Thursday to business leaders in the Dallas-Forth Worth area on monetary policy. Powell is delivering a speech followed by a question and answer session.
The appearance comes one week after policymakers again voted to lower their key interest rate by a quarter percentage point, or 25 basis points. That followed a half-point cut in September and left the federal funds rate in a range between 4.5%-4.75%.
Economic readings this week, though, showed that inflation has proven sticky, with consumer price inflation at 2.6% and prices at the wholesale level at 2.4%. The measures are considerably higher for core inflation, which excludes food and energy costs.
Markets expect the Fed to cut again in December then likely skip the January meeting as officials assess the impact of the policy easing moves so far.

As Canada’s diabetes rates stabilize, experts say it’s not all good news – National
As global diabetes rates rise, the prevalence of the ******** in Canada has stabilized in recent years, with women seeing the most progress, new research suggests.
But experts say “it’s still really an epidemic” that needs greater attention.
A peer-reviewed study published in The Lancet journal on Wednesday ahead of World Diabetes Day showed that between 1990 and 2022, age-standardized diabetes rates neither increased nor decreased in Canada.
Worldwide, an estimated 828 million people were living with diabetes in 2022 and the global rate of the ******** – Type 1 and 2 combined – in adults doubled from seven per cent to 14 per cent over the last three decades.
In Canada, there were 1.2 million women and 1.8 million men living with diabetes in 2022, data showed.

With a 5.7 per cent prevalence rate, Canada ranked 15th in the world when it comes to diabetes in women and with an 8.1 per cent prevalence, ********* men ranked 35th globally.
“It gives us an idea that compared to other similar countries around the world, Canada’s doing a little bit better,” said Calvin Ke, an assistant professor at the University of Toronto and study co-author.

However, with an aging population driving cases up each year and diabetes still affecting one in 10 people in the country, it’s not all good news for Canada, experts say, adding that more needs to be done to improve rates of diagnosis and prevention.
Lorraine Lipscombe, an endocrinologist at the Women’s College Hospital in Toronto who is also on Diabetes Canada’s national research council, said the Lancet study does not paint a full picture of diabetes prevalence in Canada because of undercounting and bias.

“My concern about these numbers is that they are likely a little bit undercounting because of the way in which the data were collected,” she said.
Jeremy Gilbert, an endocrinologist in Toronto, said the ********* data is encouraging, but diabetes is “still really an epidemic.”

There are several factors that could be contributing to diabetes rates plateauing in Canada, experts say, but more research is needed.

Diet and physical activity play a role in minimizing the risk of developing diabetes, Ke said.
Better awareness and screening could also be behind the flattening rates, Lipscombe said.
“One piece of good news is that more people are likely being screened and tested for diabetes than before and there’s greater awareness in our population about diabetes,” she said.

Understanding stigma and misconceptions surrounding diabetes
Gilbert said despite increased awareness of the importance of diet and exercise, people are more sedentary in their lifestyle and eating healthy is more expensive than eating unhealthy foods like processed meals or those high in sugars, fats or salts.
“We tell people to eat vegetables and proteins, but those are the most expensive of the foods,” he said.
“I think we’re seeing signs of some raised knowledge and awareness, but still a lot of work to do on the implementation side of things.”
Are ********* women seeing most progress?
The Lancet study found that the lowest prevalence of diabetes in the world in 2022 was in western Europe and east ******* for both sexes, and in Japan and Canada for women.

Ke said in most countries there’s a higher rate of diabetes among men compared with women.
While the Lancet study did not look at the factors behind gender differences, Ke said other research suggests that obesity among women is lower in Canada than in other countries, such as the ******* States.
Dietary factors and gender-related factors that are unique to Canada could also be playing a role, he said.

Age increases the likelihood of diabetes and risk factors, like unhealthy lifestyles, are traditionally more common in older men, Lipscombe said.
Biological factors could also be protecting women from diabetes when they are younger.
“Having estrogen, for example, has been shown to be somewhat protective,” Lipscombe said.

She said even though overall men are more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes, in the younger age group under the age of 50, women are catching up, with an equal likelihood of getting diabetes as younger men.
Meanwhile, there has also been a significant rise in gestational diabetes during pregnancies in Canada, which is a “worrisome trend,” Lipscombe said.
Gilbert questioned the gender discrepancy in the Lancet research, saying it’s inconsistent with previous studies.
“I have a large practice, but I have a large number of women and men and ********* data in the past has always showed very similar prevalence of men and women with diabetes.”

What Canada’s pharmacare plan does and doesn’t cover
When it comes to treatment coverage, Canada was among the countries to see the biggest improvement over the past three decades, along with Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, South Korea, Russia, Seychelles and Jordan.

Ke said around two-thirds of diabetes patients above the age of 30 are being treated in Canada, which is a “good sign,” but there’s still “a large gap” that needs to be filled to improve access to treatments, especially in the more vulnerable population.
Lipscombe said Canada’ universal health-care system gives it an advantage over other countries when it comes to accessing care and recommending treatment for diabetes.
She is optimistic that Canada’s pharmacare bill, which became law last month and includes coverage of diabetes medications for all Canadians, will only further improve treatment access.

It’s also implied that Rey is the “key to the franchise’s next turn.” The outlet further suggested that Lucasfilm was willing to consider Kinberg’s ideas for the new trilogy as a means to “move Rey forward.” One source told THR, that Rey “is the most valuable cinematic asset” for the Star Wars franchise and probably the only one.
Moreover, it wrote that Star Wars film development “has been under scrutiny for several years” and that Kathleen Kennedy was “taking *****” due to not expanding on significant characters that existed after George Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney. A teenage girl who ***** after being hit by a car after leaving a stationary police vehicle on the M5, has been named.
Avon and Somerset Police said Tamzin Hall, 17, from Wellington, Somerset, was hit by a car travelling southbound between junction 24 for Bridgwater and junction 25 for Taunton, shortly after 23:00 GMT on Monday.
She had got out of a police vehicle that had stopped on the northbound side while transporting her, moments before the incident, police added.
“Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Tamzin’s family for their devastating loss,” the force said.
The force referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which is now investigating the incident.
“A specially-trained family liaison officer ******** in contact with them to keep them updated and to provide support.
“The family have asked for privacy at this difficult time,” the force added.
The IOPC said the teenager was being taken from an address in Taunton to a custody suite in Bridgwater in a police car by two officers.
The police car stopped on the northbound carriageway of the motorway, between junctions 25 and 24 just before 23:00.
At this point, the teenager got out of the car and shortly afterwards was involved in a collision with a member of the public’s car on the southbound carriageway, the IOPC said.
An ambulance was called and paramedics attended within a few minutes but Tamzin ***** at the scene.

Microsoft has revealed its latest marketing campaign, designed to highlight the numerous ways Xbox games can be played.
The new slogan, “This is an Xbox”, consists of a humorous series of statements pointing out things that aren’t an Xbox – such as bento boxes and bus stops – as well as devices that can play Xbox games.
These include mobile phones, laptops, Amazon ***** TV sticks and the ROG Ally handheld.
“This is an Xbox invites people to play with Xbox across multiple devices and screens,” Xbox Marketing senior director Craig McNary said on the official Xbox Wire blog.
“It showcases the evolution of Xbox as a platform that extends across devices, with bold, iconic, fun visuals and a light-hearted tone. Launching today, the campaign will come to life in a variety of ways.”
This includes an “immersive takeover” taking place in a number of major cities including San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, London, New York, and Berlin, where “this is not an Xbox” has been labelled in “unexpected places”.
Xbox has also partnered with a number of similar sounding brands to provide other entertaining variations on the theme.
For example, a partnership with The Happy Egg Co in the *** allows it to show their product, followed by an Xbox Series S, with the slogan: “This is an eggs box, this is an Xbox.”
“You’re probably reading this on an Xbox-enabled device, that can be powered on with the help of Cloud Gaming or the Xbox App for PC,” McNary added.
“And that’s the inspiration for our new ‘This is an Xbox’ campaign.”

Apple’s new iPhone software comes with a novel security feature that reboots the phone if it’s not unlocked for 72 hours, according to security researchers.
Last week, 404 Media reported that law enforcement officers and forensic experts were concerned that some iPhones were rebooting themselves under mysterious circumstances, which made it ******* for them to get access to the devices and extract data. Citing security researchers, 404 Media later reported that iOS 18 had a new “inactivity reboot” feature that forced the devices to restart.
Now we know exactly how long it takes for this feature to kick in.
On Wednesday, Jiska Classen, a researcher at the Hasso Plattner Institute and one of the first security experts to spot this new feature, published a video demonstrating the “inactivity reboot” feature. The video shows that an iPhone left alone without being unlocked reboots itself after 72 hours.
Magnet Forensics, a company that provides digital forensic products including the iPhone and Android data extraction tool Graykey, also confirmed that the timer for the feature is 72 hours.
“Inactivity reboot” effectively puts iPhones in a more secure state by locking the user’s encryption keys in the iPhone’s secure enclave chip.
“Even if thieves leave your iPhone powered on for a long time, they won’t be able to unlock it with cheaper, outdated forensic tooling,” Classen wrote on X. “While inactivity reboot makes it more challenging for law enforcement to get data from devices of **********, this won’t lock them out completely. Three days is still plenty of time when coordinating steps with professional analysts.”

iPhones have two different states that can affect the ability of law enforcement, forensic experts, or hackers, to unlock them by brute-forcing the user’s passcode, or extracting data by exploiting security flaws in the iPhone software. These two states are “Before First Unlock,” or BFU, and “After First Unlock,” or AFU.

When the iPhone is in BFU state, the user’s data on their iPhone is fully encrypted and near-impossible to access, unless the person trying to get in knows the user’s passcode. In AFU state, on the other hand, certain data is unencrypted and may be easier to extract by some device forensic tools — even if the phone is locked.
An iPhone security researcher who goes by Tihmstar told TechCrunch that the iPhones in those two states are also referred to as “hot” or “cold” devices.
Tihmstar said that many forensic companies focus on “hot” devices in an AFU state, because at some point the user entered their correct passcode, which is stored in the memory of the iPhone’s secure enclave. By contrast, “cold” devices are far more difficult to compromise because its memory cannot be easily extracted once the phone restarts.
For years, Apple has added new security features that law enforcement have opposed and spoken out against, arguing that they are making their job *******. In 2016, the FBI took Apple to court in an effort to force the company to build a ********* to unlock the iPhone of a mass-shooter. Eventually, the *********** startup Azimuth Security helped the FBI hack into the phone.

Lawyers representing Rudy Giuliani in a lawsuit related to a massive defamation judgment against him are seeking to quit the case in New York federal court, citing significant disagreements with the former Trump campaign attorney over how to handle the matter.
The move came a week after the case’s judge threatened to hold him in contempt of court if he ******* to surrender personal property to satisfy some of the $146 million judgment in favor of two Georgia election workers he defamed after the 2020 election while representing current President-elect Donald Trump.
Giuliani’s lawyer, Kenneth Caruso, in a filing Wednesday night wrote that he and co-counsel David Labkowski had three grounds for seeking to withdraw from the case in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
Those grounds included “the client insists upon taking action with which the lawyer has a fundamental disagreement,” and “the client insists upon presenting a claim or defense that is not warranted under existing law.”

This third ground cited in the filing was “the client fails to cooperate in the representation or otherwise renders the representation unreasonably difficult for the lawyer to carry out employment effectively.”
Four paragraphs of the motion are blacked out in the publicly available copy of the document.
Caruso earlier had asked Judge Lewis Liman to keep the entire motion sealed, citing the need to avoid disclosing confidential information or material that is “likely to be embarrassing or detrimental to the client if disclosed.”
Liman rejected a full sealing but allowed Caruso to file a public copy that redacted paragraphs that contained confidential information related to his legal work for Giuliani, a former New York City mayor and top federal prosecutor.
Giuliani’s spokesman, Ted Goodman, in a statement to CNBC, said, “Mayor Giuliani has not been informed by Mr. Caruso of this action.”
“Surely Mr. Caruso would talk to the mayor, or at the very least inform him of such a decision,” Goodman said.
Giuliani represented Trump on the heels of the 2020 election, when the then-president was seeking to reverse his loss to President Joe Biden.
Giuliani during that time falsely claimed that Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss committed ballot ****** at a Georgia vote-counting site. The women, who are mother and daughter, later sued Giuliani, alleging defamation.
A federal judge in Washington, D.C., in August 2023 issued a default judgment against Giuliani in the case after he repeatedly ******* to comply with orders requiring him to turn over evidence to the women’s attorneys.
A trial jury in December awarded the women $146 million in damages from Giuliani for defaming them.
The women’s lawyer has complained that Giuliani has stonewalled his efforts to obtain an array of personal items that Giuliani has been ordered to surrender to satisfy at least a fraction of the judgment.
Those items include luxury watches, baseball memorabilia and a 1980 Mercedes-Benz.

Amazon and PBS have entered a partnership that will bring content from the public media operation to Prime Video. More than 150 local PBS channels and the PBS Kids Channel will launch as a free ad-supported TV (or FAST) offering on Prime Video over the coming months. The from PBS noted that this is the first time this collection of programming will be available on a major streaming service for free.
PBS Distribution is also launching two new FAST channels that will be available exclusively on Prime Video for a limited time beginning November 26. These channels are PBS Drama and PBS Documentaries. It seems Amazon is looking to focus on a lineup of FAST channels within Prime Video for free viewing, since the company announced that it is .
Having yet another place to watch public media content is a happy development for PBS fans. The broadcaster recently launched a FAST channel with Roku called PBS Retro, specifically with shows from the 1980s and 1990s for those of us who want to ***** into a little nostalgic escapism.

A new Windows 11 update, KB5046633, has introduced a peculiar glitch that causes a message to pop up and tell users that their version of Windows ‘has reached the service’ , and encourages them to ‘get the newer version of Windows to stay up to date.’
This could cause undue worry for people, as it implies that their system is outdated a even though there’s no cause for alarm and their PC actually is up to date (especially right after downloading and installing this update).
In a screenshot demonstrating the glitch on the Windows Update page provided by Neowin, you can see a ‘Learn more’ link, which apparently takes people to a Windows 10 support article.
This only adds to the mystery and Neowin speculates that the notification was intended for an update like KB5001716, applicable to other versions of Windows 10 and 11, which is meant to remind users that their version will soon no longer be supported. Microsoft doesn’t appear to have acknowledged the hiccup yet.
Waiting for answers to come out in the wash
It’s not totally unusual for Microsoft to issue reminders like this as Windows 10’s end-of-life date is coming up in less than a year. For users of operating systems which will soon stop being supported, these are important reminders. KB5046633 is for Windows 11 users, however, who don’t need to worry about their operating system no longer being supported.
Hopefully, Microsoft will acknowledge the blip and put out corrective measures soon, as spooking its users with false alarms won’t go down well – and could even lead to a ‘boy who cried wolf’ scenario in the future.

Months of background work finally paid off last week when the shire of Augusta-Margaret River brokered a deal with the developers of a new housing estate in Witchcliffe to protect a precious tree.
The “grandmother tree” within the Leeuwin @ Witchcliffe subdivision was the subject of strident community concerns this year, and residents feared the project team would refuse to alter its internal road network to protect the tree, believed to be 450 years old.
However, shire planning and development services manager Matt Cuthbert has confirmed the tree will be saved and the nearest road moved 25m away.
“Our unique natural environment is important to everyone who lives in Augusta-Margaret River, and one of the reasons we all love living here,” he said.
“Once the developer understood the tree’s significance, they were eager to collaborate with us to explore ways we could protect it.”
Proven Project Management did not respond to the Times’ inquiries, and Witchcliffe activist Anu Grace said she had received only non-committal responses from the team.
Mr Cuthbert said an arborist recommended that the road be built outside of a 15m protection zone.
The developer had voluntarily extended the zone to create a 25m buffer, he said.
Temporary fencing would also be in place during construction to ensure traffic was kept away, he said, making sure there was no accidental harm, and to protect surface roots.
“We’re committed to balancing our region’s growth with environmental protection so we can retain the natural beauty that defines where we live,” Mr Cuthbert said.
“We’re proud to have achieved this positive outcome on behalf of our community.”
Site work is expected to start later this month.

Trading has been part of the Pokémon fabric and DNA since day one. It’s no surprise Trading is a huge topic of discussion in Pocket, and I’ve gathered the latest news and announcements to tell you everything we know about Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Trading mechanic.
Once you’ve opened many Pokémon TCG Pocket packs and reeled off Wonder Picks, your collection should look very full; but you’re also bound to have tons of duplicates. Getting extras of the same card is crucial when it comes to Flair in Pokémon TCG Pocket, but it can become an annoyance too. There are so many Pokémon I love when I first pull but become irritated by when I see them for the 10th time—or twice in one pack!
You can swap duplicates in real life—one area where the physical edition of the Pokémon TCG differs from the virtual format. We know Trading is in Pokémon TCG Pocket, but questions are being asked about it daily, and I’ll answer them now.
Can you Trade in Pokémon TCG Pocket?

You cannot Trade in Pokémon TCG Pocket at present as the feature is currently locked behind a notice saying “Coming soon.” I think this part of the equation is quite self-explanatory. You can’t Trade, but The Pokémon Company has addressed the future of the mechanic.
When is Trading Coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket?
As announced by the Pokémon TCG Pocket X social media page, “January 2025” is the official start ******* for Trading.
The post has been translated, and says, “We are aiming to add a feature that allows certain cards to be Traded started in January 2025. We are gradually planning to expand the selection of cards that are able to be Traded.”
So, not all cards can be Traded on day one. Using my best judgment, I’d say all cards ranging between one and three diamonds are going to be eligible to Trade. It does mean EX cards and other mega-rare pulls—such as Full Arts—need to wait a bit longer.
Unfortunately, like many players, I find myself in the situation where I have completed most of the main Genetic Apex set, and I’m mainly missing the odd EX card, as well as Full Arts. The Pokémon Company likely doesn’t want so many people having every card already, and it encourages players to spend more money and open more packs in a bid to pull the rarest cards.
Also, don’t be surprised if Gold Crown cards are never made Tradeable in Pokémon TCG Pocket. We’ll update this as we learn more about the card criteria for Trading.
How to Trade in Pokémon TCG Pocket
The actual Trading process hasn’t been outlined yet, but we wager a similar system to Pokémon GO is likely to be employed: Direct, one-to-one Trading between connected players, and you need to have a certain amount of currency to do so.
Pokémon GO requires Stardust to Trade—with certain cards made untradable altogether—and I expect you probably need a certain amount of Shinedust to Trade in Pokémon Pocket. The amount likely depends on the rarity of the creature, and Trading may be limited to a certain amount per day. This is all conjecture for now, but I can’t imagine the system will drastically deviate from this theory.

Alex Jones is having a full meltdown on the cusp of InfoWars’ extinction.
The far-right *********** network was auctioned off to the satirical outlet The Onion, ending what was arguably Jones’s most successful endeavor while marking the beginning of his descent into irrelevancy.
During a breathless rant on Steve Bannon’s War Room from the InfoWars studio, Jones called the news of The Onion’s acquisition “ridiculous,” referred to U.S. regulators as “imperial troops,” and insisted that the auction rules had been changed at the last minute by the “deep state.”
“They are in the building, they told the office manager, and they’re calling me right now, that they have ordered the I.T. providers to cut all the I.T. off to shut InfoWars off,” Jones said. “I could get on a live camera right now and go show you the U.S. trustee and the auctioneer.”
“It’s confirmed now that they’re going to cut the power,” Jones said before busting into a grueling laugh. “We are literally sinking, tied up to the new boat, and we’re taking both ships right now, Steve Bannon, **** bless you.”
“They’re in the control room.… Imperial troops are through the glass,” Jones said before standing up and walking off camera. “It is a distinct honor to be here in defiance of the tyrants.”
Bannon then suggested that Jones and his crew should put a microphone in front of the regulators as they comb through Jones’s assets.
At one point during the live broadcast, Jones attempted to project that he had made peace with the major loss, encouraging his viewers to tune in to his new news site.
“All you’re doing is shutting down the building and taking away AlexJones.com and the Infowars store,” he said. “We got funds coming in. We got high-powered lawyers. We’re moving forward. The tide has turned.”
In the run-up to the auction, Jones had appeared to be under the impression that “good guys” on the right would buy the fringe network, though he did not reveal who they were. Several groups expressed interest in InfoWars assets, including a coalition of ******** and anti-disinformation watchdog groups, according to The Daily ******, as well as some of Jones’s own supporters, like Donald Trump ally Roger Stone.

Ronnie O’Sullivan knocked out of Champion of Champions by Xiao Guodong
Ronnie O’Sullivan was knocked out in the opening round of the 2024 Champion of Champions tournament in Bolton by China’s Xiao Guodong.
O’Sullivan, 48, a four-time winner of the event, had taken a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven-frames match, only to lose 4-3 after a superb comeback from Xiao.
Breaks of 95 and 125 in frames two and three respectively had seven-time world champion O’Sullivan on course to reach Thursday’s quarter-final at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
But Xiao produced breaks of 130, 88 and 85 before winning the final frame 64-35.
It is O’Sullivan’s second consecutive defeat. Last week, he was knocked out of the 2024 International Championship by Pang Junxu, also from China, at the last-32 stage.
Xiao will face Mark Selby in the quarter-finals after his 4-2 victory over fellow Englishman Shaun Murphy.
Selby recorded breaks of 96 and 132, clinching the win by taking the final frame 115-0.
