Davina McCall to have surgery for rare brain tumour
Davina McCall to have surgery for rare brain tumour
Davina McCall is having surgery to remove a brain tumour, she has revealed.
The TV presenter posted a video on Instagram to say she had been diagnosed with a rare type of benign tumour called a colloid cyst.
A benign tumour is not cancerous, but such cysts tend to grow slowly, according to the Brains Trust charity.
“It needs to come out because if it grows, it would be bad,” McCall said, adding: “So say a prayer for me. I am in good spirits.”
In her video, she explained: “A few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace.
“But it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare – three in a million.
“And so I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons. I got lots of opinions, and I realised that I have to get it taken out.
“It’s big for the space. It fills the space. It’s 14mm wide, and it needs to come out because if it grows, it would be bad. So I’m having it removed via a craniotomy.”

Microsoft UAE power deal at centre of US plan for AI supremacy
Microsoft UAE power deal at centre of US plan for AI supremacy
Microsoft has struck an artificial intelligence (AI) energy deal with ******* ***** Emirates (UAE) oil giant ADNOC after a year of extraordinary diplomacy in which it was the vehicle for a US strategy to prevent a ******** military tech grab in the Gulf region.
The latest in a line of AI deals that Microsoft has struck in the UAE this year, it is the fruit of a strategic partnership the US struck with the Gulf state in September to entwine the UAE with US strategic interests and technology, after it started investing its oil wealth in a plan to become an AI superpower.
It also entrenches Microsoft’s place at the crux of the environmental crisis, pledging to help one of the world’s largest oil firms use AI to become a net-zero producer of carbon emissions, while getting help in return in building renewable energy sources to feed the unprecedented demand that the datacentres powering its AI services have for electricity.
The same paradox was played out at the COP 28 climate conference in Dubai last December, while Microsoft prepared to ink a $1.5bn investment in UAE state-owned AI and datacentre conglomerate G42, where Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, ADNOC oil chief, chaired a global agreement to ditch fossil fuels.
But the agreement raises a question of why Microsoft needs the partnership to explore the potential for renewables to power AI, when a considerable proportion of electricity required to run the power-hungry computers in the world’s datacentres already comes from renewable sources. This came after massive investments by US big tech firms, and when a third party in the deal is Masdar, the renewables arm of a UEA sovereign wealth fund, set up to invest the state’s oil wealth in renewables. This helped the Gulf state attain a similar place in the world’s top 10 rankings for solar power output as it has in oil production. Masdar’s investments include the ***’s Dogger Bank wind farm, set to become the world’s largest.
Power struggle
It is a crucial question for UAE, which has established its credentials in making some of the most notable breakthroughs in AI tech in recent years. This includes the Falcon large language model, which is compared for its acumen with well-known AI engines operated by US big tech firms, and is the world’s first Arabic AI model. The petrostate seeks to be a world leader in AI, while the global energy transition strips it of the oil and gas wealth upon which its economy was until recently almost entirely dependent.
Al Jaber, who is also UAE industry minister, characterised these last weeks as a crisis, worsened by an anticipated population surge across the southern hemisphere, and by the unexpected and exponential growth in demand for power from datacentres housing AI computer systems.
It is a crucial matter for UAE because the weather in the Middle East is so hot that it takes 50% more energy to cool a datacentre there than in the cooler northern reaches where most datacentres operate, according to Tassos Peppas, regional director of Vertiv, a supplier of datacentre power and cooling systems crucial for running the prized Nvidia computer chips crucial for the big AI systems.
“The Middle East is not the best place for energy efficiency,” he said. No matter that energy in the Gulf was typically 90% cheaper than Europe, and that the same datacentre, on balance, would cost up to 80% less than one in Europe.
Unanticipated until 18 months ago, the UAE has now called for a boost in all forms of cleaner energy, including the liquid natural gas to which the country has turned to as a less-polluting fossil fuel export than the oil, which is still a primary source of power across those countries where populations are booming and economies are industrialising fast, Al Jaber told a global conference of oil and energy chiefs, and state officials from across the southern hemisphere.
Those countries, across *******, Southeast and Central Asia, and the ****** subcontinent, where UAE has a long tradition of trade, have become a destination for Emirate investments in AI, energy and port infrastructure. The firms Microsoft has been doing business with have all been spreading their influence by making such AI investments across the wider region. Microsoft itself did a $1bn AI deal with the UAE in Kenya in May.
Gateway to growth
That explains both Microsoft and US motives in the Gulf state, as UAE AI minister Omar Sultan Al Olama put it in an interview with US think tank Atlantic Council when the software giant took its massive stake in G42 in in April. UAE is a “gateway” to *******, Southeast Asia and India. He likened great power competition in AI, and international negotiations over AI regulation such as the ***’s own Bletchley Park summit, to the Cold War nuclear arms race.
“UAE is the perfect hub where the US can showcase its technology for the rest of the developing world in a way that asserts its supremacy in this domain,” he said. UAE’s Falcon AI was a vehicle the US could use to assert that supremacy, because it was known and trusted in *******, for example, while Falcon would benefit from getting access to advanced US AI technology.
That trade-off came at the expense last year of G42 purging its systems and datacentres of ******** technology, paving the way for a strategic deal with the US two months ago, and a series of tie-ups. These included a $100bn investment fund that Microsoft formed with US financial giants BlackRock and Global Infrastructure Partners, and UAE state-owned AI investor MGX.
Microsoft president Brad Smith joined UN environment envoy Mark Carney and the CEOs of most major oil firms to agree on the eve of the energy conference that the crisis was so great that it would need gas, as well as nuclear and renewables, to solve it.
The software giant’s latest contribution will be the AI engine for a UAE effort to make its fossil gas exports more competitive, as well as its energy system greener. Microsoft will help run a national infrastructure of energy grid battery plants UAE needs to store output from what it claims is the world’s largest solar farm, as it completes construction in the next five years. Al Jaber, sitting on the boards of most of the firms involved, as well as running the industry ministry, and Microsoft’s Smith, will be at the centre of it all.

Milestone magic from Yallop in Roar win over Glory
Milestone magic from Yallop in Roar win over Glory
Brisbane Roar captain Tameka Yallop scored a double in a 2-0 A-League Women win over Perth Glory as she equalled the record for most top flight matches for the club.
The 33-year-old drew level with Matildas teammate Clare Polkinghorne on 152 appearances for the Roar.
She opened the scoring with a goal for the ages from an acute angle just inside the box after a long ball from Momo Hayashi at Brisbane’s Perry Park.
Yallop was cool and calm in slotting a penalty just after halftime after Matildas teammate Sharn Freier was brought down by Glory goalkeeper Miranda Templeman. It was her 65th goal in the ALM.
Templeman was under siege for most of the match as the Roar played a wonderful brand of attacking football that featured precision passing and enthusiastic support.
Impressive 20-year-old Roar midfielder Tamar Levin noted Templeman had roamed out of the goal mouth and launched a stunning 35m strike that soared into the back of the net to give the hosts a 2-0 lead at the break. It was Levin’s first in the ALM and one to savour.
The Roar have been given plenty of thrust up front from Bulgarian international Evdokiya Popadinova and the **** recruit was a constant threat.
Glory, notably lethargic in extreme humidity after a long road trip, were unable to build any momentum and gave the ball away far too often.
The win took the Roar to six points after three rounds, with Glory having the one win so far.
Friday night was special for Yallop, with former Roar and Matildas midfielder Alicia Ferguson high in her praise.
“It is really important for Tameka Yallop to stay fit and healthy at this point of her career and I think she is looking in great form,” Ferguson said in commentary on Paramount.
“She has taken on this leadership role with the Brisbane Roar and has been there since I played with her in the first season of the W-League when we won the grand final in 2008-09.
“She has always been an exceptional talent and an extremely mobile and attacking player.”

Nations League: Greek police criticised for ‘heavy-handed’ treatment of England fans
Nations League: Greek police criticised for ‘heavy-handed’ treatment of England fans
Greek police have been criticised after it was claimed they used riot shields and tear gas to control England supporters during the Nations League match with Greece in Athens.
The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) is asking fans to share their experiences of the situation that unfolded outside of the Athens Olympic Stadium on Thursday.
After the match, which England won 3-0, the Football Association released a statement saying it was aware of issues and were obtaining more information on what happened.
Posting on X, external, Free Lions, the FSA’s fans’ embassy team, said there is “still clearly so much needed” to ensure fans are not put in “unjustifiably dangerous situations”.
Around 3,500 England supporters travelled to the Greek capital for the sold-out fixture but some fans complained of being “pushed” and receiving “heavy-handed” treatment from local police.
“Despite being told how things would operate in advance, to see the exact opposite occur in some cases, and to see the treatment of our fans by local police using shields and tear gas to do something as simple as rearrange a ******, is so incredibly frustrating,” the FSA added.
The FSA said Uefa, ********* football’s governing body, has also been informed.
BBC Sport has contacted Uefa for comment.

Neil Druckmann’s Says Current Project in the Works Since 2020, Suggesting An Imminent Announcement About The Last of Us 3
Neil Druckmann has just revealed that the new game from Naughty Dogs has been in the works since 2020, and there is a high chance that it gets announced later this year, one year prior to its release, a strategy Sony has been using for a long time now.
Druckmann is excited to share news about his new game. Image Credit: Jon Kopaloff (Getty Images)
The game Druckmann is talking about is anticipated to be The Last of Us 3. This is a strong assumption given the time given for its development, which roughly accounts for almost 5 years, which is the average time needed to complete an AAA title.
Neil Druckmann Is Excited To Announce His Next Game
Naughty Dog’s next game anticipated to release next year. Image Credit: Naughty Dog
Druckmann shared his excitement about the next game he is working on through an online panel with Ken Levine; the video has unfortunately been removed for the public as of now.
There is a high chance that Naughty Dog announces its next title in TGA later this year. TGA is a celebration of games from all over the world and one of the biggest events of the gaming industry.
There have been rumours in the air about Druckmann working on a new IP for Sony, and there is a chance that this game he has been talking about is in fact a completely fresh one. If such is the case, then it would be the first time in many years that Naughty Dog will release a new game.

However, the chances of this game being The Last of Us 3 are slightly higher due to the time ******* of its development. If the development started in 2020, then the chances of it being the next addition to The Last of Us franchise are relatively higher.
The Only Certain Thing Is That We Are Getting A New Game For Sure
There is a high chance that the next game from Naughty Dog might be The Last of Us Part 3. Image Credit: Naughty Dog
Whether the next game is The Last of Us 3 or a fresh IP is debatable, but the only thing that is certain is that we sure are getting a new game next year. Sony only announces titles 1 year prior to release, and even Druckmann is of the opinion that announcing a game closer to release relieves pressure off of the team.
This approach has proved beneficial in the past. What the next game is, we still can’t say for sure, but we might get a clear picture towards the end of this year when the game is announced.
If you are a fan of the games by Druckmann, then you sure are in for a treat; just hang tight and wait; he will not disappoint. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below

Aaron Kirby: The bounce of *********** wickets India’s arch-****** once again
Aaron Kirby: The bounce of *********** wickets India’s arch-****** once again
There’s a reason the *********** cricket team consider beating India in India the pinnacle of achievements.
The conditions are so foreign, and unlike anything in Australia, your entire team must show true mastery over their skills to even be competitive.
But as hard as it is for Australia to adapt to India, it’s just as difficult for India to adapt to Australia.
And that was in the spotlight again as the megastars of Team India took to the WACA Ground for the first day of match simulation.
The WACA pitch, with India using the strip that was once reserved for Tests at the iconic cricket ground, was far from demonic but did have some of the venue’s famed pace and bounce.
To India’s dismay, its first scalp was KL Rahul’s right hand/arm.
Sent out to open as he auditions to take the place of Rohit Sharma, who is likely to miss the first two Tests as he awaits the birth of his second child, Rahul was left in visible discomfort as a delivery from Prasidh Krishna reared towards his glove.
He attempted to take strike after taking a breather but had to call for medical assistance and was taken from the field without returning.
If Rahul has suffered a fracture, India will have to make a tough decision.
Shubman Gill was shifted to open with impressive youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal as the top order were given a second ******.
But Gill has struggled at the top of the order in past series in Australia and has been crafting a home for himself at first drop.
If Rahul doesn’t get up for the West Test commencing on Friday, and India doesn’t want to change their order, it could leave them looking at debuting Abhimanyu Easwaran.
The 29-year-old has an impressive first-class resume with 7674 runs at 48.87 with 27 centuries, but they lose 53 Tests of experience and a batter that can ply his trade from one to seven.
It’s almost like Australia losing Alex Carey but not having Josh Inglis in reserve.
Camera IconShubman Gill in action. Credit: Ian Munro/The West ***********
The bounce proved India’s No.1 issue for the rest of the day, with every top-order wicket, other than Rishabh Pant being bowled, coming from catches behind the wicket.
After three crisp cover drives, Virat Kohli was caught behind prodding.
Jaiswal and Gill used their extra height and looked better, but both were caught in the gully region during their first knock.
India were wise to give themselves a near-fortnight lead in as Australia’s bounce looks like the tourists’ arch-****** once again.

The best iPad accessories for 2024
The best iPad accessories for 2024
If you’ve just picked up the new iPad mini, or any iPad for that matter, you’re probably already loving its versatility. But the right accessories can take your tablet experience to a whole new level. From productivity boosts to style upgrades, accessories are essential for getting the most out of your iPad. For instance, a keyboard folio can transform your iPad into a mini laptop, perfect for typing on the go, while a folio case provides protection with a touch of style.
There are also accessories like power adapters for quicker charging or hubs with a dual USB-C port to connect multiple devices at once, which can be game-changers if you’re working with more than one gadget. And as iPadOS keeps evolving, so do the ways we can make our iPads feel more like complete workstations or creative hubs. Whether you’re after a high-quality screen protector, a new stand or anything in between, there are accessories for everyone that can make your iPad even more capable and fun to use.
Quick Overview
See 10 more
Which iPad generation do you own?
Before you splurge on a bunch of accessories, you should double check which iPad generation you own. There are a couple of ways to do this: first, you can check the back of your tablet for its model number, which will start with an “A” and end with a series of numbers. You can also go into Settings on your iPad, then General and look up the model number in the top section. If you see a series of letters and numbers with a slash (“/“) in it, just tap that to reveal the iPad’s true model number.
The most important iPad details to consider before buying accessories are the charging port, screen size and Apple Pencil compatibility. Most iPads now have USB-C charging, save for the 9th-gen iPad that still uses a Lightning connector (and is on the way out anyway). Make sure to double check your iPad’s screen size before buying a folio case or a screen protector. As for the Apple Pencil, check out this guide to how to choose the right Apple Pencil to make sure you’re getting the right one for the tablet you have.
Best iPad accessories for 2024
OtterBox
Otterbox is an expert when it comes to protection, as seen with their phone cases, but its Symmetry Series 360 series shows that it has design chops, too. Symmetry cases look similar to the Apple’s Smart Cover, but the clear, scratch-resistant back is sturdy without adding a lot of weight to the iPad. Plus, the edge protection is substantial, so you won’t have to worry about damage from the inevitable, accidental bumps your tablet takes. I also like the extra flap Otterbox added that keeps the iPad screen cover closed and holds the second-generation Apple Pencil to the side of the iPad *****. Symmetry Series 360 cases are available for most iPad models, and while they’re more expensive than some no-name iPad case you might find on Amazon, they’re worth it if you want a great balance of protection and style.
Speaking of cheaper iPad cases that fill up Amazon’s search result pages, some that are actually worthwhile are from Moko and ProCase. If you like the look and feel of Apple’s Smart Cover, but don’t want to drop $50-plus on one, both of these brands have dupes that give you that style at a fraction of the cost of the first-party option. — Valentina Palladino, Deputy Editor

Twelve South
Of the plethora of iPad stands I’ve used, Twelve South’s HoverBar Duo is the one that has come closest to perfect. The “duo” in the name refers to the fact that the gadget can either prop your iPad up using an arm attached to a weighted base, or the same arm just attached to a desk or table using its included clamp. The stand comes fully assembled on the weighted base, but it’s pretty easy to switch to the clamp thanks to the included instructions and basic tools in the box. If you spring for the latest model, it’ll be even easier thanks to a new quick-switch tab that lets you swap between the weighted base and the clamp attachment with any extra tools.
It wasn’t hard to secure my 11-inch iPad Pro in the vice-grip that is the HoverBar Duo’s tablet clip, although it did take some force to move the arm into the right position. That’s probably for the best because it showed how strong the arm is; it stayed in place without buckling, sliding down or otherwise breaking a sweat. I mostly used the HoverBar Duo with the clamp attachment, which allowed me to use my iPad Pro as a secondary screen while working. The included clamp should fit most desks and tables too, as it can accommodate surface thickness from 0.4 inch to 1.4 inches.
If you’re willing to sacrifice flexibility for something more elegant, Elago’s P2 stand for iPad may be a good fit. It’s made of a single piece of aluminum with a ledge for your iPad and a few well-placed cutouts that you can snake a charging cable through. The ledge is also wide enough to accommodate most iPad cases. It may not be foldable or adjustable, but its minimalist design will make it an attractive addition to your desk. — V.P.

Logitech
One of the best Bluetooth keyboards I’ve used recently is the Logitech MX Keys Mini. It’s not designed specifically for the iPad, but it works quite well with it. It combines a lot of the ergonomics and the general look and feel of the MX lineup into a compact and portable keyboard. The Keys Mini has a slim profile that’s slightly raised due to its top bar, plus comfortable backlit keys that are a dream to type on. The backlight is one of my favorite features because it automatically comes on when it senses your hands getting close to the keyboard. That way it only stays illuminated when you’re typing, conserving battery life in the long run. Logitech estimates the Keys Mini will last up to 10 days, depending on backlight use, or up to five months without any backlight use.
Logitech’s $100 MX Keys Mini may be on the expensive side, but it’s one that could be both your iPad keyboard and your main desk typing device. It can connect to up to three devices at the same time, allowing you to swap between them quickly with just a press of a key, and it has a few other handy keys too like one that brings up the emoji picker and another that mutes your microphone (quite useful on Zoom calls). But if you want an iPad keyboard that’s even more affordable, or even thinner, we still like the Logitech Keys to Go, which we’ve recommended in the past and you can usually find for between $50 and $70. — V.P.
$96 at Amazon
Apple
If you really want to indulge, Apple’s own Magic Keyboard is the way to go. This expensive keyboard folio magnetically attaches to the latest iPad ***** and keeps them “floating” above the keyboard and trackpad. We praised the Magic Keyboard for its typing comfort and precise trackpad, but dinged it for its limited range of motion. It’s easily the fanciest keyboard case available for the iPad and it’s one to consider if money is no object — or if you want the most stylish iPad keyboard money can buy. — V.P.
$225 at Amazon
Apple
This likely won’t come as a surprise, but the Apple Pencil Pro is the best stylus you can get for the iPad. All models of the Apple Pencil are designed to work specifically with iPads and it shows in their smooth writing performance. The latest stylus has a double-tap feature that you can customize to a certain degree, and pressure-sensitivity allows you to add as much or as little detail as you want to digital artwork. Plus, it still supports wireless charging when you snap it magnetically to the side of your tablet. I highly recommend shelling out the extra money for an Apple Pencil if you’re an artist — you won’t be disappointed. — V.P.
$94 at Amazon
Logitech
There are other options that are more affordable than the Apple Pencil, though, like Logitech’s Crayon. It’s just as good in terms of latency and accuracy — drawing in Procreate was a lag-free experience and my strokes always ended up exactly where I wanted them to be – and it’s even more grippy by default thanks to its oval-shaped design. But as someone who primarily uses an Apple Pencil for digital art, I missed pressure sensitivity when using the Crayon.
Aside from that, the other biggest annoyance is that you have to use a Lightning or USB-C cable to charge it. (Even the newest model for the iPad ***** doesn’t magnetically attach to the tablet for charging.) While I wouldn’t suggest the Crayon for serious artists, I would recommend it for anyone who’s on a strict budget, especially digital journal-keepers, committed note-takers and the like. — V.P.

Logitech
We called Logitech’s MX Anywhere 3S a “nearly ideal travel mouse.” It’s light at just 95 grams and the buttons are nearly silent so you won’t bug anyone in the room with your furious clicking. The improved 8K DPI optical sensor works on just about any surface — including, for example, the upholstered arm of your couch. Depending on the ****** you pick, the MX Anywhere 3S is made from between 61 and 78 percent post-consumer recycled plastic. And the rechargeable battery lasts around 70 days on a charge. This generation doesn’t include a USB dongle (which wouldn’t work with your iPad anyway) but we never noticed any lag in Bluetooth performance in our tests anyway. — Amy Skorheim, Reporter

Tablift
Working at a computer can be a pain in the neck (literally), so I wanted a way to play with my iPad after work without having to lift my head off the couch. Sure, I could use my arms, but that gets tiring. This Tablift iPad holder looks a little funny, like some mech-spider attacking your chest, but it works exactly as I’d hoped. The adjustable legs are repositionable but quite sturdy once they’re in place, and three slots hold your tablet at different angles, including a forward-leaning one that’s particularly nice for lying down. It’s a little bulky, so I curl up the legs and store it under my couch. The slots and securing clip perform best if your device is ******, though I’ve been able to use it with a Smart Folio attached with little issue. — A.S.
$40 at Amazon
Satechi
If you plan on pushing your iPad Pro to its limits as a daily driver, you’ll probably need more than the tablet’s single USB-C port. Apple has provided little guidance to which USB-C hubs and adapters work best with the iPad ***** — there’s no MFi certification for accessories like this yet. Some hubs specifically advertise that they work with the newest iPad *****, and if you want to be extra safe, I recommend buying one of those that comes from a reputable brand.
Satechi’s $100 Aluminum Stand and Hub is a favorite for its foldable design and how it packs ports and charging capabilities into a compact iPad accessory. The holder itself rotates outward, revealing a hidden, attached USB-C cable and a rubber bumper that keeps the stand in place in your desk. On the back edge are a 4K HDMI socket, one USB-A port, a headphone jack, both SD and microSD card slots and a 60W USB-C connection for charging.
I liked the versatility of Satechi’s hub. I could easily use it when I needed to prop my iPad up to watch a YouTube video, and by just plugging in the attached cable, I could switch to using my iPad as more of a work device with all of the necessary connectors in place. It’s also surprisingly light at 10 ounces. Combine that with its foldable design and you have a full-featured hub that can easily be stuffed in a bag. — V.P.

Anker
Not everyone needs, or wants, to spend $100 on a dock for their iPad. (If you’re using it as a laptop replacement, it’s worth the investment.) If you’d rather spend less, or just want something a bit more lightweight, Anker’s 7-in-1 USB-C hub is a good choice. It has most ports that you could ever want, with the only exception being an Ethernet jack. The slim dongle houses two USB-A ports, two USB-C connections, SD and microSD card slots and a 4K/30Hz HDMI port. We also like that it provides up to 85W of pass-through charging, which means you can power up your iPad while using Anker’s hub as the main connector between the tablet and its charging cable. Anker makes a couple of versions of this hub, including one that does have that coveted Ethernet port, but it’s hard to beat $35 for the standard 7-in-1 model. — V.P.

Anker
Apple and other tech companies are increasingly leaving wall adapters out of their devices’ boxes, so it’s worth picking up a couple that can handle charging a couple of pieces of tech as quickly as possible. Anker’s 45W Nano II GaN adapter is a good one because it can fast-charge iPhones and iPads, plus the gallium nitride technology built into it helps prevent overheating. In just a half hour of charging, I got about a 33 percent boost in battery life on my 11-inch iPad Pro when using this accessory. Gallium nitride is also a big reason why the 45W adapter is smaller than a lot of competing adapters available now, including Apple’s. We also like its foldable design, which will allow it to fit better in cramped spaces and in travel bags. — V.P.

Of all the power banks we tested, the Nimble Champ Pro was the second fastest to refill an iPad. The fastest overall was Mophie’s massive Powerstation Pro, but that one is really overkill if you’re just using it for a tablet. The Champ Pro, on the other hand, has a slim profile, a handy carrying strap and two USB-C ports. On a fifth-generation iPad Air, it moved the battery gauge from five percent to full in under two hours — and it still had enough juice leftover to give it another 75 percent bump. This is the pack I grab when I’m enjoying my iPad on the couch and don’t want to get up to revive its dying battery. — A.S.

Paper-feel iPad screen protectors
If you’re a heavy user of the Apple Pencil or some other stylus, you should consider getting a screen protector for your new iPad. They pull double-duty: Not only do they act as a first line of defense if your iPad goes careening onto concrete, but they can also enhance the digital drawing and writing experience. Using a stylus on an iPad is strange at first because gliding the stylus nib over a glass surface feels nothing like “normal” writing. Matte screen protectors can get closer to replicating the pen-on-paper experience, and they also prevent the stylus nib from wearing down as quickly.
Paperlike
Paperlike is the most popular brand in this space, with matte screen protectors for every model of iPad. A set comes with two sheets and includes guide stickers to help you get the protector positioned properly. The two-pack typically sells for $40 ro $45, depending on the size of your iPad. For something a little cheaper, Bersem’s screen protectors are a great value at $11 for a pack of two. Not only does the matte finish help when you’re drawing or taking digital notes, but it also reduces screen glare and doesn’t interfere with FaceID on the newest iPads. — A.S.
$45 at Amazon
BELLEMOND
Bellemond’s “Kent Paper” overlay has the most satisfying texture of the paper-feel screen protectors I’ve tried. The blur is minimal and the friction between the stylus and the screen is just right for drawing. I miraculously managed to get the Bellemond affixed with minimal bubbles after watching the video linked with the QR code on the box. Two sheets come in a pack, so you can revert to a ****** screen for a while then go back to the paper-feel down the road. If you’d like a little more help with proper placement of your screen protector, you might appreciate Zagg’s GlassFusion+ Canvas which comes with a mounting tray for application. It’s also made from a polymer designed to absorb and protect your screen from impact. — A.S.
$17 at Amazon

All paper-feel protectors impart a slight blur, which is why magnetic covers that you can reposition make solid alternatives. They offer texture when you’re drawing or writing, but you can remove them easily when you want to watch Star Trek with full clarity. The PenMat from PenTips uses thin magnets along the edges to affix the film to your screen and comes with a plastic sleeve to store the cover when you’re not using it. Application and removal is ***** simple, and also, there are no bubbles! The hold is surprisingly secure and the mat has a pleasing, velvety texture. I did notice a few faint squeaks when drawing with the Pencil, which didn’t bother me but might bug those who are sensitive to sounds. — A.S.

‘We’ll definitely do more consoles’, Xbox boss Spencer says
‘We’ll definitely do more consoles’, Xbox boss Spencer says
There will be more Xbox consoles in the future, Microsoft‘s gaming CEO Phil Spencer has said.
In an interview with Rolling Stone following the launch of the company’s new This is an Xbox marketing campaign, Spencer explained that the shift to a multi-platform strategy doesn’t mean the Xbox Series X and Series S will be the final Xbox consoles.
“We’ll definitely do more consoles in the future,” Spencer confirmed, “and other devices”.
“Other devices” may refer to the oft-reported Xbox handheld, which Spencer said earlier this week was in the pipeline but was likely still years away.
When asked by Rolling Stone if Xbox would release a mid-generation console upgrade similar to the PS5 Pro, Spencer was less definitive, appearing to suggest he didn’t think the difference in performance was worth it.
“We think about hardware that can create unique value for our players or creators on our platform,” he explained. “We don’t need to do incremental hardware for our own benefit.
“Does a new device really give you a unique experience on screen in some way? [It’s] less like the old days, going from the original Xbox to 360 – that was standard definition to high definition. Now [it’s] ******* to show the benefits.”
Spencer confirmed earlier to Bloomberg that Microsoft is working on handheld gaming prototypes, saying that the “expectation is that we would do something” in the category.
“Longer term, I love us building devices,” he explained. “And I think our team could do some real innovative work, but we want to be informed by learning and what’s happening now.”

November full Moon: when to see the last supermoon of 2024
November full Moon: when to see the last supermoon of 2024
The Moon’s orbit around the Earth is not a perfect circle – in fact it is elliptical, meaning its distance from Earth at any given time will vary.
The Moon’s furthest point from the Earth is known as apogee. When it is at its closest we call it perigee.
And when the full Moon – which occurs roughly every 29.5 days – coincides with the Moon’s perigee, it appears ******* and brighter than usual and so we call it a supermoon.
Supermoons are not particularly rare. In fact there are generally three or four each year. This year has already brought three consecutive supermoons – the Blue moon in August, September’s Harvest moon and the Hunter’s moon in October, which was the brightest of all.
The ******* Moon will not be quite as bright but it still qualifies as a supermoon.
It will be almost 14,000 miles (roughly 23,000km) closer to Earth than normal, with astronomers saying it will look around 14% larger and 30% brighter than usual – although it may be hard to tell the difference with the ****** eye.
The next supermoon does not occur until October 2025 – so it will be worth catching a glimpse of this one if you can.

Musk asks ‘high-IQ revolutionaries’ to work for no pay on new Trump project | Elon Musk
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are asking Americans who are “high-IQ small-government revolutionaries” and willing to work over 80 hours a week to join their new Department of Government Efficiency – at zero pay.
In a new X post on Thursday that doubled as a job announcement and another one of Musk’s trolling attempts, the account for the newly formed Doge wrote: “We don’t need more part-time idea generators. We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting.”
The name of the department, which is not part of the federal government, harkens back to a meme of an expressive shiba inu dog.
“If that’s you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants,” the statement added.
In a separate post, Musk chimed in on the callout, saying: “Indeed, this will be tedious work, make lots of enemies & compensation is zero.”
“What a great deal!” Musk, the richest man in the world, wrote with a laughing emoji. He has promised to reduce federal bureaucracy by a third and cut $2tn from US government spending, an endeavor he said “necessarily involves some temporary hardship”.
Earlier this week, Donald Trump announced the appointment of Musk and Ramaswamy to Doge, saying: “Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies – essential to the ‘Save America’ movement.”
Trump went on to describe the newly formed department as the “‘Manhattan Project’ of our time,” referring to the US-led research program during the second world war that sought to create the nuclear *****, which ******* an estimated 214,000 people in Japan in 1945.
Since the first ************** attempt against Trump in July, Musk has emerged as one of his staunchest allies, at one point proclaiming himself to be “dark Maga” during the campaign. He donated $120m to the president-elect’s campaign, held rallies for him in the swing state of Pennsylvania and promoted Trump’s message relentlessly on X.

Following Trump’s re-election victory, Musk posted an edited photo of him carrying a sink in the Oval Office, writing on X: “Let that sink in.”
The image harks back to Musk’s publicity stunt from October 2022, shortly after he closed his $44bn deal of buying X, previously known as Twitter. Musk walked into the company’s headquarters carrying a sink. According to a new Fidelity estimate, X is worth nearly 80% less than when Musk purchased it two years ago.
The caption accompanying the main photograph was amended on 14 November 2024. An earlier version inadvertently said the image showed Donald Trump, when Elon Musk was meant.

What La Niña means for temps, potential snowfall in Columbus
What La Niña means for temps, potential snowfall in Columbus
Have you felt that **** in the air? Did you break down and turn on your furnace?
Winter is on its way.
If you’ve been wondering what the winter might look like, meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Wilmington have you covered. They’ve already begun predicting Ohio’s winter weather.
Here’s what may be in store for Ohio this winter.
How La Niña could impact Ohio’s winter weather
A weak La Niña climate pattern will likely lead to above average temperatures in Ohio through December, January and February, NWS meteorologist Brandon Peloquin said at the 2024 Franklin County Snow Emergency Briefing on Nov. 14.
La Niña will also likely cause slightly below average snowfall due to an increased prevalence of rain, Peloquin said. Central Ohio normally receives 20 to 30 inches of snow during winter.
However, these predictions aren’t immovable.
“All it takes is one storm to kind of throw that seasonal forecast out the window,” Peloquin said.
Ohio’s winter weather will remain as variable as ever, meaning there will be warm spells with a potential for rain and storms, and cold snaps with snow and ice, Peloquin said.
Also, starting this year, NWS Wilmington’s wind chill advisories will be renamed to cold weather advisories to focus on how cold it is regardless of the wind, Peloquin added.
What is La Niña?
This diagram shows how La Niña impacts the U.S. and the rest of North America.
La Niña is a recurring climate pattern that occurs when trade winds that push warm water west from South America toward Asia are stronger than usual. Colder water rises to the surface to replenish the warm water pushed off to Asia, which in turn affects weather patterns in the U.S.
A cooler Pacific Ocean causes the Pacific jet stream, a fast-moving current of air that circles the globe, to move north, leading to colder and wetter conditions in northern states and warmer and drier conditions in the southern U.S., according to the National Weather Service.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul: The absurdity and appeal of Friday’s ****** in Texas
Large groups – fuelled by Tyson nostalgia – gathered outside the Toyota Music Factory in Irving before ******-week festivities, wanting to get as close to him as they could as he got out of his car.
Social media influencers and stars from Netflix shows such Cobra Kai will attend on Friday, and a VIP package – valued at £1.5m – has been sold to a law firm. It includes photos with Tyson and Paul, a number of ringside tickets and a suite situated “flush against the ring”.
Amid the glitz of ****** week, though, Taylor and Serrano have slipped into the background.
Their ****** is being promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, and co-founder Nakisa Bidarian says a Netflix deal was agreed before Tyson was chosen as the opponent.
“People aged from four, five, six years old, all the way to the late 70s and early 80s who were fans of Mike in the 1990s or 1980s. We think it’s a very unique combination,” Bidarian says. “We expect record numbers.”
The Netflix listing for Friday’s event, which includes the boxers in the cast list, reads: “This film is: Rousing, Exciting.”
The hope is the genre does not turn out to be a horror.

Oppo Reno 13 Series Leaked Images Suggest Uncanny Resemblance to iPhone 12
Oppo Reno 13 series is speculated to be in development comprising two models: Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro. It is rumoured to be launched in China later this month. Ahead of its impending debut, images of the purported smartphone were leaked on social media, giving us the first glimpse at its alleged design. Now, more snapshots have surfaced on social media. These hint towards an uncanny resemblance to the base iPhone 12, including similar flat edges and the rear camera module.
Oppo Reno 13 Series Design *****
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), user @ZionsAnvin shared multiple images of the purported Oppo Reno 13 series in two colourways: blue and pale pink. The smartphone appears to feature flat edges with the power and volume placed on the right spine. Its glass back panel appears to sport a triple camera setup with two vertically placed lenses in a raised manner along with an LED flash, similar to the module on the iPhone 12 which debuted in 2020.
Another leaked image hints at a centrally-placed Dynamic Island-style notch having similar functionalities as those on the iPhone. This is speculated to include the visibility of the music player.
Oppo Reno 13 Series Specifications (Expected)
While no specifications of the base Oppo Reno 13 have been leaked, reports suggest that the Pro model will be equipped with a 6.78-inch 1.5K (1,264 x 2,780 pixels) quad-micro-curved LTPO OLED screen. For optics, it may sport a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera, a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and another 50-megapixel telephoto shooter. The handset is also said to have a 50-megapixel selfie shooter on the front.
The Oppo Reno 13 Pro may be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage. It will reportedly be backed by a 5,900mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, and come with IP68 or IP69 ratings against dust and water ingress.

****** Ops 6 Community Stunned After Player Chooses The Most Peaceful Path to Prestige Level 1
****** Ops 6 Community Stunned After Player Chooses The Most Peaceful Path to Prestige Level 1
Call of Duty is a franchise where gunfire and chaos are at the forefront of the action. But one ****** Ops 6 player has done what is possibly one of the hardest things to do in an action game. Reddit user Pilgore1 reached Prestige 1 in the BO6 multiplayer without a single *****.
His stats speak for themselves. | Image Credit: Reddit | u/Pilgore1
Through 111 matches over nearly 20 hours, he leveled up solely by playing for objectives. And the community has reacted in exactly the way you’d expect. With shock and awe. These events show the creativity and patience possible within a game historically defined by combat-driven play.
This ****** Ops 6 Player Is The Ultimate Pacifist
For this Pacifist challenge, Pilgore1 focused exclusively on playing the objective in game modes such as Hardpoint and Domination. In these modes, winning is often time more about teamwork and strartegic tactics rather than eliminations.
Instead of engaging in combat, he utilized Spy Cams, tagged enemies, and supported his team through scorestreaks like UAV and CUAV. This unique approach allowed him to get the XP needed while being a part of his team’s success.
The community’s reaction to his achievement has ranged from admiration to playful humor. Many have dubbed him “Call of Duty’s UN Peacekeeper,” while others jokingly wish for teammates half as committed to objectives as he is.
Comment byu/Pilgore1 from discussion inblackops6
But obviously, everything can’t be straightforward. When you’re in the middle of such action packed scenarios, there are a lot of risks. Pilgore1 admitted that luck occasionally played a role, such as narrowly avoiding accidental ****** when using decoy grenades in previous games.
Comment byu/Pilgore1 from discussion inblackops6
While his methods might seem painstakingly slow, Pilgore1 insists it’s far from a grind. Over the years, his strategies have refined to the point where they’re efficient and effective. “Earning XP this way is much better than you’d think,” he explained while speaking to IGN.
It’s Not Pilgore1’s First Rodeo in the Art of Pacificm
As ****** Ops 6 launched this past October, it brought back the franchise’s traditional Prestige system, which enables players to reset their levels and start over, retaining ******* experience but losing unlocked items.
While many players speed through the rankings Pilgore1 took a slower, more methodical approach. Throughout these matches, he reportedly earned around 7,000 score per game, which allowed them to progress with surprisingly steady momentum.
Comment byu/Pilgore1 from discussion inblackops6
Interestingly, Call of Duty’s skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) did not categorize him as a low-level threat due to his zero-***** status. Instead, his impressive win/loss ratio kept him in skilled lobbies.
Pilgore1’s isn’t the only one that’s found success though. ****** Ops 6 has brought the frachise back to success following its release on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass.
For a game that often attracts criticism for its hyper-competitive culture, players like Pilgore1 offer a refreshing reminder of the diverse ways to engage with its mechanics. He is committed to continuing his pacifist path. “I’ll keep going until I get a ***** or get bored,” he stated.
Comment byu/Pilgore1 from discussion inblackops6
This user’s pacifist approach began as a personal challenge in Call of Duty: ****** Ops Cold War in 2020. Pilgore1 shared that a friendly rivalry led them to test if he could out-rank their friend without recording a single elimination.
Since then, he’s made a habit of reaching Prestige levels in various Call of Duty titles by focusing on strategy and team support over combat. Pilgore1 has had similar achievements in Vanguard, Modern Warfare 2, and Modern Warfare 3.

A clearer picture is slowly emerging of the ********* involving soccer fans in Amsterdam
A clearer picture is slowly emerging of the ********* involving soccer fans in Amsterdam
A week after ******** soccer fans were attacked in the streets of Amsterdam, triggering damning accusations of a “**** hunt” in a city with an ugly history of antisemitism, a clearer picture of what happened that night is slowly emerging.
It suggests a far more nuanced take on events than Dutch authorities had initially indicated.
The ********* occurred before, during and after a match on Nov. 7 between ******** team Maccabi Tel Aviv and the local Amsterdam Ajax club. More than 2,800 ******** fans had travelled to the city for the game.
At a news conference on Nov. 8 after a night of *********, Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema placed the blame squarely on locals, saying that “hateful, antisemitic rioters and ********** attacked and beat up *******, ******** visitors.”
Dutch Prime Minister ***** Schoof denounced what he called “unacceptable antisemitic attacks.” King Willem-Alexander said his country ******* Jews during the Second World War and had now “******* them again.” And ******** President Isaac Herzog called the ********* a “pogrom.”

Sixty-two people were initially arrested and five were hospitalized. Dutch police said five more people have been arrested since.
But a report released by the mayor’s office earlier this week, compiled with significant input from police investigators, indicates it was ******** fans who initiated the first attacks, which then spiralled.
The 10-page document addressed to council members says the first serious incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday, the night before the soccer match. It says 50 Maccabi fans pulled down a ************ flag from a building in the city’s centre. Some of those fans moved on to Amsterdam’s red-light district and attacked a taxi. Other taxis were vandalized by other ******** fans nearby.
The report indicates the taxi drivers then communicated with each other and mobilized as a group to confront about 400 Israelis, forcing police to keep the two groups apart.
‘Aggression’ from Maccabi fans, detractors before match
Exactly who took part in the confrontations with ******** fans has not been precisely spelled out.
The report acknowledges social media posts that many of those involved were young people of Moroccan descent, although it stops short of stating their ethnicity as a fact.
The document says city officials met the next morning and determined that the “aggression shown by Maccabi supporters and the reaction of the taxi drivers” was so concerning that there was a discussion about cancelling the upcoming match.

On Thursday afternoon, after it was decided to continue with the game, the tension between the two groups intensified.
A large group of ******** supporters set off fireworks in the city’s central Dam Square, and social media posts took on a “harsher” tone, with “antisemitic” terms appearing, the report says.
One widely shared video taken at some point after sunset shows a large group of Maccabi fans entering an Amsterdam metro station and shouting ******* slogans, including “Let the IDF [******* Defence Forces] win” and “F–k the ******.” The city report does not specifically mention the video or when it was taken.
Despite the worrisome buildup and tensions, over the next few hours, the Maccabi fans attended the game and then left the stadium with few incidents. But the trouble intensified afterward.

The report says after they left the stadium, some Maccabi supporters with sticks committed acts of vandalism in and around the city centre.
Other groups (the report does not say precisely who) then engaged in “violent hit and run actions” targeting Israelis, including using mopeds and motorcycles.
In response, police gathered Maccabi supporters together at several locations for their own protection, and buses were arranged to return them to their hotels.
Police ban demonstrations
By then, the report says, *******’s ambassador to the Netherlands was fully engaged with Dutch authorities, saying the events in Amsterdam were generating anger in ******* and that senior members of the government were planning on coming to the country.
******** officials say many Maccabi fans were so afraid, they locked themselves in their hotel rooms, although police said when they came to investigate, they found few individuals outside who were posing a threat.
By Friday afternoon, many of the ******** fans who had initially come to the Netherlands had departed. Most of the rest were gone by Saturday morning.

Police say a ban on demonstrations, along with their increased presence, generally prevented further acts of ********* over the weekend. However, several other apparent antisemitic incidents occurred that were cited in the report. In one case, a Dutch taxi driver demanded a customer tell him whether he was ********. Another man was reportedly thrown out of a taxi because he was *******.
Police made a total of 62 arrests before, during and after the soccer game. Of those, 49 people were either Dutch or lived in the Netherlands, and 10 were ********. While nearly all were released, three of the four who were held in custody for longer were teenagers, and one was 26.

In the aftermath of the *********, Dutch authorities cancelled the annual ceremony to commemorate Kristallnacht, the infamous night in November 1938 during which ***** rioters in several ******* and central ********* cities ransacked ******* homes, synagogues and businesses and terrorized ******* residents.
During the Second World War, three-quarters of Dutch Jews were murdered.
Antisemitism just 1 factor in *********, report says
The report appears to qualify the mayor’s initial statement that only “antisemitic” rioters were responsible for the *********. “The events of the past days stem from a toxic combination of antisemitism, hooliganism and anger about the conflicts in Palestine and *******,” it stated.
It also notes that “distressing” incidents occur regularly in the city, affecting “not only Jews but also increasingly Muslims, Palestinians and other ********* groups.”
Jazie Veldhuyzen, an Amsterdam city councillor, said it’s clear in hindsight that Dutch officials and politicians deliberately overreacted to the soccer ********* because it was useful to their respective political agendas.
“Basically everything that happened this week, including the riots, has been used by right-wing politicians — even our prime minister — to point the finger at migrants and blame them,” Veldhuyzen told CBC News in an interview.

The head of the far-right Party for Freedom, Geert Wilders the largest party in the Dutch parliament, has been vocal about blaming the ********* on ******* Moroccans in the Netherlands, saying anyone found guilty should be deported.
In the aftermath of the soccer *********, Femke Halsema, Amsterdam’s mayor, survived a non-confidence vote initiated by right-wing parties.
“It wasn’t the case that people were specifically looking for Jews,” Veldhuyzen, the city councillor, said.
“People got attacked by Maccabi hooligans because they were mostly ******, and the counterattacks came as a result. But these [attacks] were directed at Maccabi fans specifically, and not at ******* people from Amsterdam,” he said.
Dutch ******* groups, however, dispute that interpretation of the city’s report.
Pro-************ protests have continued
“I think what happened … was already planned far in advance,” said Naomi Mestrum, director of the Center for Information and Documentation *******, a Dutch non-governmental organization that lobbies on behalf of *******.
“We already had reports coming in from taxi drivers last May where they were saying they were going to hunt for Zionists, that they didn’t want any Jews in their taxis and stuff like that,” she told CBC News.
“It’s been building up since last year — ever since Oct. 7 we’ve seen a huge increase in antisemitic incidents.”
Mestrum said ******** fans who misbehaved or were violent doesn’t change her belief that they were deliberately targeted.

“Now we see the excuses — like they were chanting songs … and they pulled ************ flags from houses. All those things happened and they were disgusting, but it’s not an excuse to go **** hunting. It’s not an excuse to ask people who look Middle Eastern for their passport,” Mestrum said.
Since the events of a week ago, Dutch authorities have implemented a number of security measures to try to prevent a repeat of any ********* and to lower tensions.
Those measures included a ban on demonstrations — which was lifted on Thursday — but all week, pro-************ groups have come out into the streets anyway. On Wednesday night, more than 280 people were arrested.
******** officials have complained that there have been few arrests relating to ********* directed at Maccabi fans over the last week.
WATCH | Dutch authorities arrest dozens, ban protests after ********* involving soccer fans:
Police say they are continuing to pore over security camera footage to try to identify those involved.
“We are preparing an independent investigation into the events of the past days, the preparations and actions of the authorities,” the city’s report said.

****** Tail Staff Taking on Another Hiro Mashima Adaptation Might End Horribly for the Mangaka
The recently released role-playing video game by Marvelous, Farmagia, has become the talk of the town as an anime adaptation of the video game has been announced. The character designs of the game were done by ****** Tail creator Hiro Mashima, and the anime adaptation comes as a big shock to many people as the game was just released worldwide for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam.

Farmagia is a combination of action role-playing and farm life simulation that allows the players to grow different categories of monsters from seeds. These monsters can be used for different purposes and are the most important aspect of Felicidad, the fictional land where the entire game is based. The game came out on November 1, 2024, and it has instantly become quite famous.
The intriguing aspect of the upcoming anime adaptation of Farmagia is that the entire staff of ****** Tail is going to work on the series. However, this might be a big problem for the upcoming series and for Mashima because fans believe that the entire character array of Farmagia has been copied from ****** Tail.
Farmagia is Getting An Anime Adaptation
Farmagia follows the story of Ten and his friends, who are revolting against the tyranny of the Oración Seis, a Dark Guild that has taken over Felicidad. He is helped by Nares, a former Oración Seis general who is revolting against the dark guild. The entire narrative is divided into twelve chapters spread across the game for players to explore.
The anime adaptation of the game was announced by Marvelous on their official YouTube channel, and the major details came afterward.
The series will premiere on Jan. 10, 2025, and it will be produced by ********* animation studio Bridge, responsible for creating anime series like Shaman King, ****** Tail, Talentless *****, etc.

The upcoming series draws a lot of parallels with ****** Tail in terms of production, as most of the staff members from ****** Tail will be working on Farmagia. Shinji Ishihira, the anime director of ****** Tail, will be working as the chief director of Farmagia. Akihiko Sano, who was the animation director of ****** Tail, will be working as the director for Farmagia.
Fans Are Not Happy With The Parallels Between Farmagia And ****** Tail
Although Farmagia getting an anime adaptation is certainly exciting news, some anime fans are not at all happy with it. Their disappointment stems from the similarity between the character designs of ****** Tail and Farmagia. The entire character array of Farmagia looks like it has been copied from ****** Tail, and the blame goes to Hiro Mashima.

While the stories of both series might be different, the uncanny resemblance between the characters affects Farmagia in a major way.
This is why, when the news about Farmagia getting an anime adaptation hit the internet, a lot of fans expressed their disappointment with Mashima and the series.

Why the ***** all his art look like a ********fairytale rehash the designs are such **** did he make these up on the ******* cuz bruh
— ياسمين (@rafiq_ushi) November 15, 2024
Although fans are not happy with the similarity in the character designs, there is a chance that Farmagia’s intriguing and unique storyline might just save the series. It all depends on how the anime adapts the narrative and portrays it.
****** Tail is available to watch on Crunchyroll.

‘I started a club to make new friends’

Emma wants to find friends to talk about “really weird stuff” like her love of time travel fiction
The day Emma Shores was diagnosed with autism has become such a defining moment in her ****** life that she celebrates it like a “second birthday”.
The first thing on her mind when she got the news was making friends with other people living with autism, people she felt might truly understand her for the first time in her life.
“I thought maybe I’ll feel less like an alien,” she said. But things were not that easy.
Emma had been in her mid-20s, living in London, and following her dream of becoming a primary school teacher when she had what she describes as a “major meltdown”.
Her life derailed, she was taken in by mental health services, misdiagnosed as having a mental illness, given medication and therapy.
Emma moved away to be with family in rural Wales – and then by chance during a therapy session, she said someone spotted she might have autism instead.
It meant that by the point she was ready to understand herself and looking for friends to help her navigate her new world – she was living in a rural town, far away from most of what she knew.
Emma is turning down the lights in the local cafe for her group’s first meeting
“After the diagnosis I remember I started feeling really happy,” said the 33-year-old.
“But there was also a bit of grief too, because I wasn’t going to be this person I’d had the idea of being.”
Emma tried looking for groups that might help her make friends.
She had also just become a mum, so tried parenting groups as well but found them loud and overstimulating.
Then she heard about a new project designed to encourage people with autism to start their own social clubs.
It appealed to her straightaway.
“For me, feeling alone was like having a native language that’s different to everyone else around you,” said Emma.
“I think the main reason I want to start a club is to help others, to make my son proud one day. I also don’t want anyone to feel that sense of loneliness I have.”
Feelings of loneliness and isolation
The project, run by the National Autistic Society (NAS), aims to encourage adults living with autism to start their own peer support groups, where members can regularly meet for activities such as bowling, pizza or games nights.
Research by the charity suggested 80% of adults living with autism experience feelings of loneliness and isolation.
“Some of the things that we get regularly are around not being confident with people who are used to being bullied or picked on,” said Simon Humphreys, who started the first social club for people living with autism in Colwyn Bay.
“They don’t like to mix and they feel very vulnerable.
“People just feel desperate and alone. At least this way we are talking and developing a friendship family.”
Those attending the friendship clubs say they can “geek out” without *****.
Like Emma, former wrestler and hospice worker, Emrys Forrester also only found out he was living with autism in his mid-20s.
He said attending Simon’s group in Colwyn Bay had helped him to understand who he was.
“I’ve always felt like a socially awkward person,” he said.
“As an ******, once you’re diagnosed you get the paperwork and stuff but then you’re off. That’s it.
“This is great because it’s able to get you interacting with other people with autism who have real experiences. If you understand what they go though it can help you too.”
Emyrs said he wouldn’t normally feel comfortable going to a busy cafe
For Declan Boland, 29, it is an opportunity to talk for hours without ***** of being judged.
“Talking is frightening for a lot of autistic people,” he said.
“I have to mask a lot of what I do and concentrate, make sure I stick to a topic and don’t go off on a tangent.
“Here you can just embrace the weirdness. You meet a range of people with different interests, but we always have that specialist subject, that we’ve absorbed like a sponge.
“When we get to geek out, honestly, it’s the best thing in the world.”
Declan loves to “embrace the weirdness” at his friendship group
Declan’s special interest is cars, others at the Colwyn Bay club love talking for hours about gardening, films or even Thomas the Tank Engine – without ***** of judgement.
In Abergavenny, it is her love of time travel fiction that Emma dreams of sharing with potential new friends.
Together with local councillor Kyle Elridge, who also lives with autism, Emma is starting the Abergavenny spectrum social.
They have struck an agreement with a local café to turn off the music and turn down the lights for their group when they meet once a month.
If successful, it will be the eighth group in Wales, with plans by NAS to roll the project out in England shortly.
“It’ll be super special and cosy,” said Emma.
“I’m hoping I’ll just grab a few drinks and talk about really weird stuff.
“None of that normal support group kind of stuff. It’s going to be really fun and an opportunity for people to be themselves.”

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul: Tyson slaps Paul during final face-off at weigh-in
Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul: Tyson slaps Paul during final face-off at weigh-in
Among the chaos of the headline antics, undisputed light-welterweight champion Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano offered a calm appetiser, making weight with ease, conducting a friendly face-off before using their time on the microphones to hail the progress of women’s boxing.
“I told her this is our time,” Serrano said afterwards. “Let’s do the same thing we did two years ago.
“This is the defining moment for all women in boxing. This is our time. We worked really hard to be in this position.”
In 2022, Taylor narrowly beat Serrano on points to edge an all-time classic at lightweight.
The rematch is at light-welterweight, with both women weighing 9st 11lb.
Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn was in attendance, despite some reports that he would not be given a credential for the event.
The Matchroom boss has been critical of Paul-Tyson and said he would leave before the main event.
He applauded his fighter Taylor, who was equally complimentary of her fellow trailblazer.
“I’ve had some amazing moments in 18 years but I think tomorrow night will be one of my best ever,” Taylor said.
