Florida ‘********’ allegedly run by ******** immigrants shut down after victim’s desperate phone call
Two Guatemalan ******** immigrants are accused of human trafficking after police found two women at a residence in Lake Worth Beach that was “actively being used as a ********,” according to authorities.
Yudvin and Glin Zunigalatin are charged with human trafficking, deriving proceeds from prostitution, holding a house of ill fame and resisting, according to county records. Glin Zunigalatin is also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and ******* battery.
Authorities initially responded to the suspects’ residence after they received a phone call around 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 9 from a young woman who reported being held against her will, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
The caller “stated she was ********* assaulted, she was at a club and that someone was going to kill her and she doesn’t want to die,” an arrest warrant states.

Deputies were able to trace the call to a densely populated area and searching for signs of unusual activity. Eventually, they observed two males exhibiting “suspicious behavior” outside a residence located on the 1400 block of Lake Ave, Lake Worth Beach. Police said in the arrest warrant that the residence was “actively being used as a ********” and was part of a “larger ******** case.”

Yudvin Zunigalatin is charged with human trafficking, deriving proceeds from prostitution, holding a house of ill fame and resisting, according to county records.
“A third unknown male was complying with lawful order and was asked to step outside. Once he went outside he took off running and disappeared,” the arrest warrant states.
Authorities were able to “visually confirm the presence of a female inside the residence” and made entry into the home. They rescued two victims of a “potential human trafficking operation” and arrested Yudvin and Glin Zunigalatin.
Florida Sheriff Asks Trump’s Ice To Remove Biden-era ‘Shackles’
A preliminary investigation revealed that both victims were recruited under false pretenses and forced to perform sex acts.
The first victim told authorities that the brothers approached her at Miami International Airport and offered her a job making scam calls that would pay $200 per day. She apparently took them up on the offer, and they drove from the airport to the Lake Worth Beach home, where she was shown to her room and confined there for days. She alleged the brothers told her she could leave if she wanted, but she “would be hunted down and hurt,” which she interpreted as killed.
The second victim told police that the suspects promised her a job cleaning houses in West Palm Beach. On what was supposed to be her first day of work, one of the suspects picked her up in his vehicle and drove her to the Lake Worth Beach residence, where he and another man made clear that she would instead be forced into prostitution.
At one point, she said she overheard two men arguing outside her room with another victim, and one of the men said, “I will fill you with bullets,” the arrest report states.
The suspects are being held on no bond, and authorities placed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers on both men.

Elon Musk defends DOGE as Trump orders agencies to comply with cuts
Elon Musk defends DOGE as Trump orders agencies to comply with cuts
Washington — Standing beside President Trump in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Elon Musk defended the Department of Government Efficiency’s efforts to drastically cut spending and dismiss workers across the federal government, insisting that Americans voted for major change and the Trump administration is delivering.
Musk, the world’s wealthiest man, took questions for the first time since the president gave him broad authority to overhaul the executive branch.
“The people voted for major government reform and that’s what the people are going to get,” Musk said, with his young son by his side. “They’re going to get what they voted for.”
Underscoring his support for Musk’s work, Mr. Trump signed an executive order requiring federal agency heads to coordinate with DOGE to shrink the size of the federal government. The order, according to a White House fact sheet, directs heads of agencies to “coordinate and consult with DOGE to shrink the size of the federal workforce and limit hiring to essential positions.”
President Trump listens as Elon Musk, joined by his son, speaks in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025.
Alex Brandon/AP
Musk said it’s “essential” that the federal government reduce spending, with interest on the debt accounting for a growing portion of the budget. The Trump administration and DOGE in particular are going agency by agency, seeking to slash workforces and programs.
The rapid downsizing and freezing of government programs, which Democrats call ********, has run into widespread legal opposition in the courts, with dozens of lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of Musk and his team dismantling agencies and programs established by Congress. Judges have blocked the administration’s actions on a range of fronts, including by barring Musk’s team from gaining access to sensitive Treasury Department data and pausing a deadline for “deferred resignations” offered to federal workers.
Musk told reporters that federal workers need to be held accountable, calling the bureaucracy an “unelected” fourth branch of government. Musk’s own financial disclosure report will remain confidential.
Asked about any personal conflicts he has and whether he’s policing himself, Musk did not answer directly but said the DOGE website is explaining what it’s doing, an apparent reference to the group’s account on X, which details contracts that federal agencies have canceled. Pressed a second time, Musk said the public can question whether he’s benefiting from DOGE’s actions.
“You can see whether I’m doing something that’s benefitting one of my companies or not,” Musk said. “It’s totally obvious.”
Musk, whose web of companies have billions of dollars worth of contracts with the federal government, said he doesn’t think he’ll be able to get away with anything untoward.
“I’ll be scrutinized nonstop,” he said.
The president said if he thought Musk had a conflict of interest with some project, he wouldn’t let Musk proceed.
Mr. Trump was asked if he plans to abide by the courts’ decisions limiting his administration’s actions. Vice President JD Vance and other Trump allies have said the court’s had no role in constraining the executive branch’s legitimate authority, raising fears among Democrats that Mr. Trump could defy a court order and spark a constitutional crisis.
“Well, I always abide by the courts, and then I have to appeal it,” the president said, while questioning why a judge would want to block his agenda.
Musk recognized there could be errors, and acknowledged that “some of the things that I say will be incorrect,” referencing a false claim that the U.S. was planning to send tens of millions of dollars worth of condoms to Gaza.
“We are moving fast, so we will make mistakes, but we will fix the mistakes very quickly,” Musk said.

Aussie tennis aces run aground at the beach in Florida
Aussie tennis aces run aground at the beach in Florida
It was far from a great day at the beach for Australians competing at the ATP men’s tennis tournament in Florida.
Aleksandar Vukic and Rinky Hijikata both suffered straight-sets losses in their round-of-32 matches at the prestigious hardcourt event, the Delray Beach Open, on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT).
Vukic, who made the third round at this year’s *********** Open, lost to world No.63 Yoshihito Nishioka, the Japanese player winning 6-3 6-4.
Despite serving nine aces to his opponent’s five, the *********** world No.67 was unable to convert any of the four break points he set up, whereas Nishioka secured a break in each set on his way a comfortable victory.
It was a disappointing result for Vukic, who made a successful Davis Cup debut in Australia’s recent victory over Sweden.
Vukic, playing in his first Cup at the age of 28, made an immediate impact by beating 21-year-old Leo Borg, son of Swedish great Bjorn Borg, 6-4 6-4 in Stockholm.
However, he couldn’t reproduce that effort in Florida, with Nishioka, who made the final at this event in 2020, booking his ticket to the round of 16.
While Vukic would have been disappointed by Tuesday’s result, even more devastating was the 6-2 6-0 scoreline in Hijikata’s loss to ******** player Yunchaokete Bu.
World No.72 Hijikata and the No.69-ranked Bu had previously faced each other on the junior circuit, but this match marked the first ATP Tour-level meeting between the pair.
The *********** landed 60 per cent of his first serves compared with Bu’s 53 per cent, but the ******** player was able to convert five of the eight break points he had, whereas Hijikata failed to set up a single break opportunity.
*********** veteran James Duckworth had been scheduled to play Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the round of 32 later on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) but was forced to withdraw.

Inside Adamas: The Team That Has Taken the COD League to the Next Level
Inside Adamas: The Team That Has Taken the COD League to the Next Level
The Call of Duty League has been the pinnacle of COD esports for the last five years. It’s the top-most tier of the competitive ecosystem, a multi-million-dollar league backed by the biggest names in modern gaming such as FaZe, OpTic, Cloud9, and 100 Thieves. Behind the scenes, one company has worked tirelessly to bring several teams to the next level in the Call of Duty League.
Enter Adamas, a performance, leadership, and development coaching organisation that has supported more than half the teams in the Call of Duty League. This effective, invaluable group has been a secret power for many of today’s CDL squads, including those that have gone on to claim the most lucrative prizes in the competitive space.
I was recently fortunate enough to catch up with Adamas at the CDL Madrid Major, and I took the opportunity to question some of the COD League’s players about the impact this organisation has on their performance.
The Power of Adamas
I’ve been connected with Adamas for more than two years, taking a special interest in the organisation around the time that the New York Subliners went on a phenomenal run through the 2023 CDL season. The squad managed to secure two Major trophies and then won COD Champs, all while under the guidance and gravity of Adamas Esports.
In the last three years, Adamas has directly influenced the performances of the teams that have claimed seven out of 13 possible major tournaments, including the Call of Duty League Championship and the inaugural Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
At the CDL Major in Madrid, Atlanta FaZe stormed to victory just weeks after winning the first CDL Minor, all while being closely aligned with Adamas and singing the company’s praises. I connected with Atlanta FaZe’s superstar players at the Major in Spain, catching up on their impressions of Adamas.
(They have) helped us tremendously. I feel like with everything — every aspect of our team, when it comes to trusting each other, being more of a team in all those ways, I feel like (they’ve) been just insane.
They’ve done so much for us already.
– Tyler ‘aBeZy’ Pharris
Tyler went on to note that Adamas has made the team’s mentality ‘tenfold better‘.
Even those who don’t ‘believe’ in the practices that Adamas preaches eventually see the benefit in what the company offers. I caught up with Cellium, one of the best Call of Duty players in the world, to get his two cents on Adamas:
Yeah, I was going to say I’ve never really been a believer in that whole ‘thing’. (They have) definitely proved me wrong with that, because (they’ve) helped me and the team a lot.
– McArthur ‘Cellium’ Jovel
I also had a chance to chat with the LA Thieves, sitting down with Scrap and Ghosty, two of the team’s more prolific players. They shared similar sentiments about Adamas, which also acts as a performance and development resource for the 100 Thieves-backed CDL team.
I feel like it helps a lot with the team cameraderie, just being comfortable with each other, fully trusting each other, calming yourself down if you need to. Mostly the team cameraderie aspect.
We’re a brand-new team, only been playing with each other two, three months total, and speedening up the process, (they’ve) helped quite a bit with that.
– Dan ‘Ghosty’ Rothe
We’re all just a fun team to be around, we be hanging out outside of the game as well, I think we’re super comfortable on stage together. I think (they’ve) made it even better for us.
– Thomas ‘Scrap’ Ernst
From the Source
Matt Fisher has worked with the biggest names in Call of Duty esports
I had an extended chat with Matt ‘Fish’ Fisher, the Director of Performance at Adamas Esports and one of the nicest and most confident people I’ve ever met. He started his CDL journey with the New York Subliners, aligning himself with the industry greats like James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks and working to instil an ‘identity of athlete’ where the concept had never before surfaced.
He gave me the secret recipe for the company’s work inside the Call of Duty League:
One of our core philosophies at Adamas is that we take a human-centered approach. Regardless of the game you play, the happier and healthier you are as a human being, the better you will perform both in game and in life.
We haven’t taught a single COD player or coach how to improve their strategies or technical skills, but we have helped them recognise how optimising other aspects of their lives will have a carry-over effect to in-game.
Much of our work is in helping to establish and maintain a team culture and environment that is conducive to both wellness and performance. Our goal is to set these organisations up with a foundation that will lead to consistent performance year after year, and allow their talent to perform to their full potential.
And the results are certainly front and centre for all to see. Fish gave me critical insights into the end-to-end process, from the team-building exercises to pre-match traditions and preparations. He noted that while we were talking, the Atlanta FaZe team was ‘meditating’ backstage, suggesting that it’s a practice that might seem unorthodox or invalid to some players.
That was shortly before FaZe went on to win the first CDL Major of the 2025 season.
Last season, the Adamas folks teamed up with the LA Guerrillas, a squad that almost went dark for a while as it tussled with internal issues and a lack of funding.
The roster was made up mostly of untested talent, but as Fish put it, ‘We feel like they were able to prove that a ‘bare bones’ team with minimum investment in player salaries and staff, supported by Adamas’ expertise, could lead to results that many considered a huge ‘overachievement’.’
From the top to the bottom, Adamas supports the Call of Duty League. The organisation helps the players immeasurably, but there’s also plenty of time spent with organisation owners and general managers, with the company promoting a growth mindset that allows the key decision-makers to make the right decisions, which at the end of the day, benefits everyone.
The Call of Duty League’s 2025 season continues to unravel. From this Friday, the qualifiers are back for Major II, and beyond that, there are another five months of competitive coverage lined up.

Can Disney (DIS) Stock Regain its Magic, or is it a Sinking Ship?
Can Disney (DIS) Stock Regain its Magic, or is it a Sinking Ship?
Walt Disney’s (DIS) recent earnings gave us a good look at a company navigating intense industry shifts, and unfortunately, things aren’t going smoothly. The entertainment powerhouse peaked between 2012 and 2019, buoyed by the success of its Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar films, including the launch of Disney+ in 2019. In 2025, Disney’s fortunes have changed despite a brief gurgle of outperformance following the COVID-19 pandemic a few years back.
Leverage the power of TipRanks’ Smart Score, a data-driven tool to help you uncover top performing stocks and make informed investment decisions.

In Q4 results published on February 5, while total revenues magically crept up 5% year-over-year to $24.7 billion in its Q4 2024 results, Disney’s legacy TV decline and growing pains in its direct-to-consumer (DTC) division remain formidable hurdles. Parks & Experiences once again came through as the main engine of growth, yet there are signs that Disney’s ship is taking on water as it traverses increasingly rougher market seas.
Combine that with an overvalued share price despite its prolonged lagging of peers and benchmarks, not to mention anemic capital returns, and I see more risk than reward at current levels.
PayPal Holdings (PYPL) Price and Analysis over the past 5 years
Despite the stock sporting a small dividend and being one of the most recognizable global brands with long-term commercialization potential, its valuation has progressively worsened since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Disney’s linear TV networks continue to wind down—a trend I’ve been tracking across the industry as more consumers cut the cord. This quarter, linear TV revenue slid 7% to $2.6 billion, while operating income dipped 11% to $1 billion. If you’ve been watching the media space, none of this is a shock. As you know, traditional TV faces a structural decline as viewers flock to streaming platforms.
Domestically, political ad spending gave linear revenues a temporary life raft, but lower impressions and overall cord-cutting more than offset this gain. Disney’s international side fared worse, with revenues plunging 31% following the shift of Star India assets into a joint venture with Reliance Industries. In my view, we can expect further erosion in the division as consumers grow ever more satisfied with on-demand platforms.
Interestingly, Disney’s management seems more focused on managing the decline of these assets rather than making significant changes, reflecting what appears to be an industry-wide belief that linear TV’s peak days are long past.
Story Continues
On the brighter side, Disney’s DTC division finally posted a noteworthy operating profit, bringing in $293 million following a $138 million loss last year. Top-line numbers looked bright, too, with revenue up 9% to $6 billion, driven by recent price hikes and stronger ad sales. Seeing Disney achieve profitability here is a key milestone, signaling that management has finally figured out how to balance costs in such a brutally competitive space.
Walt Disney earnings, revenue amd profit margin history
However, subscriber figures remain a mixed bag. Disney+ Core lost 700,000 subscribers to now have a total of 125 million. For perspective, Hulu notched a modest 3% growth to 53.6 million. Netflix (NFLX) still crushes Disney+ in sheer scale, boasting 301.6 million paying subscribers globally while celebrating record subscriber ads in the same calendar ******* (Q4 for Netflix).
Meanwhile, Amazon Prime (AMZN) and Apple TV+ (AAPL) continue to expand, leaving the market crowded while consumers are picky. Thus, Disney may finally be hitting the wall in its efforts to further grow its DTC division.
Looking at Disney’s Parks & Experiences division and its numbers in isolation, it’s hard to ignore the stability it provides for the broader company. Revenue hit $9.4 billion, up 3% year-over-year, reflecting how deeply embedded Disney’s theme parks are in the cultural fabric.
And yet, a 5% dip in domestic operating income, largely thanks to hurricane-related closures and costs tied to new cruise ships, signals that growth is becoming trickier. International parks did better, with operating income surging 28% on robust guest spending, but how much room is there for further revenue growth?
Walt Disney (DIS) Revenues History
Per-capita spending is still robust—visitors are willing to pay a premium for the Disney experience—but attendance seems to be plateauing. Hiking ticket prices indefinitely isn’t exactly a long-term strategy.
While the new cruise line expansions might capture some extra dollars, launching massive ships like the Disney Treasure comes with hefty upfront investments, evident in the declining free cash flow in Q4 2024. In my view, Disney’s Parks & Experiences may be close to hitting saturation point in the near term and may even require further investment before the business unit returns to its majestic good times.
Given Disney’s soft results, the stock doesn’t strike me as a bargain despite its lagging performance over the past year. You could argue that the market has already priced in most of the linear TV declines and streaming uncertainty, yet I believe there’s more downside risk if streaming growth doesn’t ramp up as quickly as hoped.
Meanwhile, Disney’s capital returns remain minimal. Both the dividend and buybacks are negligible. Along with Disney still trading at a forward P/E of about 20x, I am not compelled to justify the execution risks tied to the linear TV unwind and the uphill streaming battle.
Walt Disney (DIS) Dividend Yield Range from 2018 to 2025
Wall Street’s outlook on DIS stock seems more encouraging than mine. In New York, BBAI stock carries a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 18 Buy, six Hold, and zero Sell ratings over the past three months. Walt Disney’s average price target of $128.32 per share implies a 16% upside potential from current levels.
Walt Disney (DIS) stock forecast for the next 12 months including a high, average, and low price target See more DIS analyst ratings
Disney’s various segments tell an elaborate story of a company trying to find its footing in a transformed media landscape. The stock still looks overpriced for a business facing uphill battles in linear TV, DTC subscriber growth, and park capacity constraints.
My take is that Disney’s good news, like the DTC profit milestone, doesn’t offset the harsh realities ahead. So, while I’d be happy to see fresh catalysts that spark genuine upside, I can’t find a compelling reason to invest in this diversified entertainment and media enterprise right now.

Cisco launches Smart Switches with AMD DPUs for security
Cisco launches Smart Switches with AMD DPUs for security
Cisco introduced switches with AMD Pensando digital processing units Tuesday that run security and network services on the devices instead of on separate appliances.
The Cisco N9300 series of Smart Switches is powered by the Cisco Silicon One E100 network processor, designed for top-of-rack switching. The chip provides 4.8 Tbps of capacity, advanced telemetry, line-rate encryption and integration with AMD DPUs.
Cisco is not the first vendor to introduce data center switches with DPUs. In 2021, Hewlett Packard Enterprise introduced the Aruba Networking CX 10000 series with a Pensando processor for networking and security services, including firewalls, encryption and load balancing.
AMD acquired Pensando for $1.9 billion a year later. At the time, Pensando made a programmable packet processor that competed with DPUs from Intel and Nvidia.
The Cisco Smart Switch will initially run Cisco’s Hypershield, a distributed security architecture leveraging DPUs and the extended Berkeley Packet Filter. EBPF is a Linux kernel technology that executes programs in a sandbox separate from the OS.
Hypershield automatically analyzes large amounts of security data to make recommendations and provide general insights. It also provides visibility into application processes.
“Every port on a network of Smart Switches becomes a network security enforcement point,” said Shamus McGillicuddy, an analyst at Enterprise Management Associates. “This leads to more efficiency in traffic flow, which is critical to latency-sensitive applications like AI.”
Preparing for AI
The Smart Switch is a logical option for enterprises refreshing their networks to run AI models and applications. While the hardware isn’t AI-specific, it would route traffic from AI applications running on clusters of GPUs. Organizations doing large-scale AI today include financial institutions, large pharmaceuticals and cloud providers.
“The thing we’re hearing is that AI is having a big impact on all networking infrastructure — data center and edge, ” said Jim Frey, an analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, now part of Omdia. “Everyone’s really looking at this and saying, ‘How can I prepare for AI?'”
Cloud providers and organizations with hyperscale data centers have run network and security services on DPUs attached to switches for years. Cisco offers the 8000 series of white-box switches to select customers who want to run the SONiC open source network OS on a Silicon One processor. Microsoft developed SONiC, or Software for Open Networking in the Cloud, for hyperscale data centers.
“Cisco has taken what they’ve learned from selling Silicon One to hyperscalers and has figured out how to package it for non-hyperscalers — for everybody else,” Frey said.
The Smart Switches run Cisco’s NX-OS and are managed through the Nexus Dashboard, a unified platform for managing, monitoring and operating data center networks. Integrated services include lifecyle device management and policy orchestration.
Cisco could run various network and security services on the DPUs in the future, such as load balancing or application security, analysts said. The company could also allow third-party vendors to run services on the DPUs. The company didn’t respond to a request to discuss future plans.
Cisco plans to ship its first available N9300 Smart Switch in the spring. It will feature 24 100G ports. A model featuring 48 25G ports, two 100G ports and six 400G ports is scheduled for release in the summer. Pricing was not disclosed.

India’s oil minister says ‘we play by the rules,’ as markets weigh U.S. energy sanctions
India’s oil minister says ‘we play by the rules,’ as markets weigh U.S. energy sanctions
India will cooperate with international sanctions, the country’s oil minister told CNBC on Tuesday, as markets eye future U.S. policy under the new administration of President Donald Trump.
“We play by the rules. If there is an international sanction, which is anchored, we would not want to go around it or anything,” India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri told CNBC’s Sri Jegarajah on the sidelines of the annual India Energy Week conference.
“On Russia, yes, there was a price cap, and we adhered strictly to the price cap. Going forward, if there are issues, we will address them.”
India’s refiners have been snapping up discounted Russian oil since Western and G7 energy sanctions barred many consumers from Moscow’s supplies, in an effort to whittle down Russia’s war coffers after its invasion of Ukraine. Countries not subject to the measures have been able to use insurance and shipping providers to facilitate the acquisition and transport of Russian crude procured under a price threshold.
New Delhi has repeatedly defended its purchases as a matter of national interest.
“There is no sanctioned country, first of all. It’s a lot of misrepresentation that’s taking place. Today, Europe still buys 25% of its gas from Russia. They buy other critical energy from there. So there’s no sanction,” the energy minister said Tuesday.
Get a weekly roundup of news from India in your inbox every Thursday.
Subscribe now
He also signaled that the government of Trump’s predecessor, President Joe Biden, had endorsed India’s bolstered intake of Russian oil.
“I’ve had a chat with the Americans, the previous administration. They said, please buy as much as you like. Just make sure that you buy it within the price cap. And that’s what we did,” Puri said. CNBC has reached out to the U.S. State Department for comment.
India met about 88% of its oil needs via imports between April and November 2024, little changed from a year earlier, official data showed. As of January, about 40% of those imports came from Russia, data from trade intelligence firm Kpler suggests.
In 2021, Russian oil accounted for just 12% of the country’s oil imports by volume. By 2024, that share had surged to over 37%, according to Kpler data.
Sanctions in focus
The U.S. has been key in shaping global energy policy through sanctions over the past decade. In January, the U.S. imposed sweeping measures targeting Russia’s energy firms and the operators of vessels transporting oil — a move that analysts believe will make it harder for buyers like India to continue importing cheap Russian crude.
Investors have been waiting to see whether the newly installed Trump will pursue a ramp-up or relaxation of U.S. energy restrictions — critical to markets because the U.S. dollar denominates crude and oil product commodities.
Trump imposed sanctions affecting the Iranian and Venezuelan energy sectors during his first mandate and has taken an “America First” approach that could further incentivize domestic output — amid questions over the impact that threatened U.S. tariffs could have on global supply elsewhere.
Puri signaled his country would not be adverse to additional acquisitions of U.S. volumes. “If Americans are putting in more energy onto the global market, somebody asked me: ‘Are you going to buy more? I said: ‘I’d be surprised if we don’t.’ Because it’s in the natural flow,” he added.
The sanctions and trade developments are coinciding with a ******* when India’s oil consumption growth has outpaced that of China, contributing to 25% of the global increase in oil consumption.
“I am convinced that geopolitical tensions need to be managed,” Puri said Tuesday, noting current characterizations of supply-demand fundamentals in the oil market are “depending on whom you’re talking to and depending on where they stand on the equation,” as producers or consumers.
“A country like India, with a robust demand and a current consumption of 5.5 million barrels [per day] has a contribution to make in terms of which way the market goes. And we… we plan to use that leverage,” the oil minister added.

Amazon opens its first beauty and personal care store in Italy
Amazon opens its first beauty and personal care store in Italy
Amazon is opening a beauty and health products store in Milan, marking the company’s latest brick-and-mortar experiment.
The store is located in the city center of Milan, Italy, and features a range of beauty and personal care items, as well as non-prescription drugs, Amazon said in a blog post. The first store, which is called Amazon Parafarmacia & Beauty, will open its doors to the public on Wednesday.
The store will be stocked with products from beauty and skincare brands including La Roche-Posay, Eucerin and Vichy. There are also “Derma-bars,” where shoppers can get a “complimentary digital skin analysis” of their skin type and condition, and receive product recommendations.
Amazon says the store includes a section staffed by on-site pharmacists where shoppers can purchase “non-prescription, over-the-counter medications.”
By launching its first “parapharmacy,” the e-commerce giant is hoping to parlay its online success in the beauty and personal care category into sales in the physical world. Beauty and personal care items, which include everything from hairspray and cosmetics to deodorants and Q-tips, make up one of the fastest growing verticals on Amazon.
The company began offering health and beauty products in 2000, but its selection was initially limited to most mass-market brands. Its since added more luxury brands like Estee Lauder and La Mer.
The new store format also marks Amazon’s latest experiment in physical retail. The company opened and then shuttered all of its bookstores, pop-up shops, 4-star stores and apparel stores. It’s also shrunk its footprint of Amazon Go convenience stores, shutting down a storefront in Woodland Hills, California, last month. In grocery, Amazon’s portfolio includes Whole Foods supermarkets and its own chain of Fresh stores.

Gerwyn Price wins second Players Championship of 2025 as PDC world champion Luke Littler stumbles in quarter-finals
Gerwyn Price wins second Players Championship of 2025 as PDC world champion Luke Littler stumbles in quarter-finals
Gerwyn Price won the second Players Championship of 2025 with a dramatic 8-7 victory over Chris Dobey in the final, having beaten Luke Littler in a thriller earlier in the day.
Price had been 6-3 down to Dobey at the Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan, but rallied and held his nerve in the deciding leg.
The Welshman managed just a solitary 180 to Dobey’s six in the match and his average of 99.58 was below below his opponent’s 101.83, but he hit his doubles at key moments.
The 39-year-old had earlier knocked out PDC world champion Littler in the quarter-finals with a tense 6-5 victory.
Littler bettered his performance on Monday, when he was knocked out in the third round, but Price finished on top, hitting a 14-dart check out with the scores locked at five legs apiece.
“Sometimes I just gave up, rolled over and had my belly tickled, but my mentality and the way I think has changed,” Price told PDC Darts, after securing his first title of 2025.
“Now I’m getting back to my best. There’s a lot more positivity in my game and it seems to be working.”
There are 34 Players Championship events across the year, with the competition’s finals scheduled to be held in Minehead from 21-23 November.

Residents warned to brace for potentially ‘severe impact’ as cyclone moves towards Western Australia
Residents warned to brace for potentially ‘severe impact’ as cyclone moves towards Western Australia
Aussies have been warned to brace for potentially “severe” impacts as a cyclone moves towards Western Australia, with flash flooding and destructive wind warnings issued.
Tropical Cyclone Zelia is set to move towards the east Pilbara coast and “develop further”, with the area, along with parts of the Kimberley coast, potentially experiencing a “severe impact” on Thursday and Friday.
Broome to Port Hedland (including Port Hedland but not Broome) are in the warning zone, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, while Port Hedland to Dampier and inland to Marble Bar (including Marble Bar) are in the watch zone.
Wind gusts up to 120km/h were recorded about 2am AWST on Wednesday as the category 1 cyclone was about 280km west of Broome and 320km northeast of Port Hedland.

The bureau warned the cyclone could develop into a category 3 by Friday.
“Tropical Cyclone Zelia will move slowly to the south towards the east Pilbara coast. Zelia may develop further to category 3 intensity before crossing the east Pilbara or adjacent west Kimberley coast most likely Friday,” the alert stated.
“The slow movement of the system is likely to produce very high rainfall totals near the track.”
Residents have been warned that damaging wind gusts of up to 120km/h could develop along the coast between Broome and Port Hedland on Wednesday (not including Broome), which could extend to Dampier on Thursday if the cyclone moves further west than anticipated.
Destructive wind gusts of up to 160km/h could develop between Bidyadanga and Port Hedland on Thursday, while heavy to locally intense rainfall could cause flash flooding across coastal and adjacent inland areas.
Camera IconHeavy to locally intense rainfall could cause flash flooding across parts of the WA coast and adjacent inland areas. Stormcast Credit: Supplied
Isolated heavy rainfall is forecast along the coast of Broome and Dampier, while a flood watch has been issued for catchments in the Pilbara and western Kimberley.
Those in De Grey and Bidyadanga have also been warned of a dangerous storm tide that could lead to tides rising significantly above normal and causing damaging waves and dangerous flooding as the cyclone centre crosses the coast.
Those in affected areas are encouraged to visit Emergency WA for community alerts and to “ensure you know what to do in a cyclone”.
A flood watch has also been issued for the Fortescue River and parts of Sandy Desert Catchments.
Too early to assess full impact of Qld floods
In Queensland, rainfall totals were lower overnight compared with recent days after Far North Queensland was lashed by floods, with two women dead in and around Ingham.
Bureau senior meteorologist Angus Hines said the lower rainfall totals signalled “that the worst of the recent run of extremely wet conditions has passed statewide”.
He said Fisher Creek (112mm) recorded the heaviest rainfall between 9am on Tuesday and 5am on Wednesday.
“Rainfall today could be moderate in the morning before becoming lighter and more isolated throughout Wednesday,” Mr Hines said.
“But renewed river rises are still possible with the ground being so wet and catchments already swollen.”
Major flood warnings have been issued for the Flinders and Herbert rivers.
Moderate flood warnings are in place for the Cape River, the upper and lower Burdekin River, the Connors and Isaac rivers, the Haughton River catchment, the Ross, Bohle and ****** rivers and Thomson River.

Minor flood warnings have also been issued for the Suttor, Barcor, Albert, Tully, Murray and Western rivers, while a flood warning is on place for the Nicholson, Gregory, Diamantina, Norman and Gilbert rivers.
It remains too early to determine how many homes and businesses have been affected by the floods in Ingham, Hinchinbrook Shire Council Deputy Mayor Mary Brown said according to the Townsville Bulletin.
“Door knocking is still going on in relation to the number of impacted properties but what you do see when you come into Ingham is piles of heartbreak,” Ms Brown said.
“Piles of heartbreak, people’s possessions that are out there on the footpath and it’s the same with businesses here.”
A shower or two has been forecast for Ingham on Wednesday with a high of 31C, with Brisbane tipped for the same.
Sydney is set for days of possible showers extending from Wednesday all the way to Saturday, with temperatures tipped to reach a high of 30C.

Melbourne is set to hit a high of 37C on Thursday despite possible showers through the week, while Perth is expected to reach a high of 36C on Saturday.
Adelaide is in for a scorching high of 43C on Wednesday before the temperature drops to 27C on Thursday, while Hobart is set to hit 33C on Thursday a 23C day on Friday.
Canberra is tipped to hit a high of 30C on Thursday, while Darwin is forecast to hit the early 30s with possible storms across the week.

‘Everyone is up in arms’: Proposed closure of Cape Cod mental health facility ignites opposition
Cape Cod residents are sounding the alarm about the impending closure of Pocasset Mental Health Center.
It’s the only state-run mental health facility and one of only two inpatient psychiatric units on Cape Cod.
Governor Healey announced the proposed closure as part of her suggested cuts to the Department of Mental Health for the fiscal 2026 budget.
Mental health advocates said the closure would have a devastating impact on local residents in crisis.
“Everyone is up in arms from our elected officials to our citizens to our clients,” said Jackie Lane, Executive Director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Cape Cod and the Islands. “Closing a facility is absolutely ridiculous.”
Lane said there’s a total of 36 mental health beds that cover the Cape and Islands.
16 are at Pocasset Mental Health Center.
The other 20 are nearly 30 miles away at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
“Your police departments are going to be overtaxed. Your emergency rooms are going to feel the impact,” said Lane. “It’s a very bad blow to any continuum of mental health care on Cape Cod.”
Barnstable County Sheriff Donna Buckley sent a letter to Governor Healy expressing her “vehement opposition” toward the proposed closure and plans to reduce the number of case manager positions in the Department of Mental Health.
According to Buckley, 69 percent of the population at Barnstable County Correctional Facility is prescribed at least one psychiatric medication.
“I can’t think of a more impactful issue on public safety and people’s everyday lives than access to mental health care,” said Buckley. “I am confident we are going to be able to work with the Governor’s office.”
State Senator Dylan Fernandes also said he’s working on a budget amendment that could keep Pocasset Mental Health Center open.

Anthony Albanese confirms regional airline Rex could become next national carrier if buyer can’t be found
Anthony Albanese confirms regional airline Rex could become next national carrier if buyer can’t be found
The federal government could acquire Rex Airlines if a suitable private sector buyer can’t be found for the embattled regional carrier.
The government will work with Rex administrators and shortlisted bidders to find a buyer committed to providing an ongoing and reasonable level of service to the regions, value for money and good governance.
If that falls through, Labor will begin working on contingency plans – including preparations for a potential Commonwealth acquisition.
“Regional Australians deserve access to quality and crucial regional aviation services,” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
“That’s why we’re taking steps to ensure the best possible deal for the ***** of Rex.”
This will be the second attempt to sell Rex after it fell into voluntary administration in mid-2024.
Questions were raised over the government’s role in Rex’s future after it acquired $50 million of debt from Rex’s largest creditor to ensure the airline could continue operations and loaned up to $80 million so the carrier could run regional routes until the end of June.
Should Rex be nationalised, it would be the first time a federal government has owned an airline in three decades after Qantas was privatised in 1995.
“When markets fail or struggle to deliver for regional communities the government has a role to ensure people do not miss out on opportunities, education and critical connections,” Federal Transport Minister Catherine King said.
“We are recognising that today and stepping in to keep these routes in the air.”
The government has also guaranteed Rex’s regional flight slots at Sydney Airport until October 2026.
It also revealed it will spend $12 million to upgrade regional airports across NSW.
This includes a $3.8 million investment in Merimbula Airport’s runway extension, $5 million for runway upgrades at Albury Airport and other commitments at Mudgee, Griffith, and Moree airports.
The Transport Workers’ Union said if Rex were nationalised it would be a significant turning point in building an aviation industry for the “public good”.
“This announcement … is a huge moment for the aviation industry,” national secretary Michael Kaine said.
“This is a vital step towards a future where aviation actually works for the people of this country, not its overpaid executives.”

After meeting with Trump, Jordan’s King Abdullah II reiterates ‘steadfast opposition’ to moving Palestinians out of Gaza
After meeting with Trump, Jordan’s King Abdullah II reiterates ‘steadfast opposition’ to moving Palestinians out of Gaza
WASHINGTON — Jordan’s King Abdullah II said he reiterated Tuesday during a meeting with President Donald Trump his country’s and the region’s “steadfast opposition” to the president’s plan to resettle millions of Palestinians out of Gaza.
“I stressed that my foremost commitment is to Jordan, to its stability and to the well-being of Jordanians,” he said on X. “I reiterated Jordan’s steadfast position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. This is the unified Arab position.”
Earlier in the day, Abdullah told Trump he could take in 2,000 ************ children from Gaza who are very sick or have *******. But the king later confirmed his longstanding position against displacing millions of Palestinians from their homes as Trump has suggested.
Trump said during their meeting Tuesday that he expected progress toward his plan and believed “99%” that something could be worked out with Egypt, another regional partner that had bristled at the president’s surprise. “We’ll have some others helping,” Trump added.
Seated with Trump in the Oval Office, Abdullah said they must ensure a plan that satisfies all parties, a not insignificant obstacle as questions remain about how each country might move to relocate a swell of people who have suffered months of devastation, and which some fear will further undermine efforts to create a ************ state. More than 1 million Palestinians remain without homes, and the king declined to say whether he would be willing to take in refugees in larger numbers. “We have to look at the best interests of the United States, of the people in the region, especially to my people of Jordan,” he said.
Questioned further by reporters about Trump’s ideas, the king said he would refrain from saying much until Egypt had a chance to weigh in. His statement following the meeting with Trump made clear that the sides remain far apart.
“Rebuilding Gaza without displacing the Palestinians and addressing the dire humanitarian situation should be the priority for all,” he said on X. “Achieving just peace on the basis of the two-state solution is the way to ensure regional stability.”
There are already over 2 million ************ refugees in Jordan, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, which says that most of them have citizenship. Jordan’s Queen Rania and her family were ************ refugees who fled Kuwait.
Trump’s proposal to “own” the Gaza Strip and relocate its residents has stirred opposition from the U.S.’s Arab partners and from world leaders across the globe who largely favor a two-state solution. However, Trump has not ceded the proposal and continued in the days since to press his ideas to take over and develop the territory after first announcing it last week during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the White House.
In an interview with Fox News that aired Monday night, Trump said that those leaving Gaza would not have a right to return and named Egypt and Jordan as two countries that he expects to take in Palestinians. Trump said it’s a project he wants to start “almost immediately.” He has referred to the territory as a demolition site.
On Tuesday, he billed it as a step toward bringing “peace to the Middle East” and said it would become a driver of new jobs in the region. “We’re going to run it very properly,” Trump told reporters and reiterated his ideas for a development plan for the territory that includes hotels and other investments. Seated to the president’s left were top advisers and officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, chief of staff Susie Wiles and national security adviser Mike Waltz.
“It’s a death trap,” Trump said of Gaza as he mused about the possibilities. He said that it’s a place where no one would want to stay, and “they are living in hell.”
Asked if he would consider withholding U.S. aid, Trump suggested he had moved on from the idea, telling reporters, “I do think we’re above that.”
“We contribute a lot of money to Jordan and to Egypt, by the way, a lot to both, but I don’t have to threaten that,” Trump said, seeming to walk back the suggestion that he was open to it.
A reliable U.S. partner, Abdullah now finds himself weighing a tentative path forward after America’s Arab partners, including Jordan and Egypt, rejected Trump’s proposal last week. On the eve of his meeting with Trump, the U.S. president threatened to cut off aid to Jordan, an annual sum of more than $1 billion. American foreign aid is currently paused as part of a sweeping halt by the Trump administration.
A senior Jordanian official told NBC News last week there was no way that Jordan could accept more refugees after harboring large refugee populations for decades from Syria and other countries in the region. But Jordan relies heavily on U.S. aid — and additional U.S. spending in Jordan goes to defend U.S. interests supporting Syrian Defense Force allies guarding ISIS prisoners in Syria — and preventing a resurgence of ISIS in Syria.
Trump’s plan is also a nonstarter with Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman — a key U.S. partner who rejected it within an hour of Trump’s initial comments last week.
Jordan, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Monday, would resettle Palestinians from Gaza, as would other surrounding countries, because they have “good hearts.” He said his administration had spoken to Palestinians who “would love to leave Gaza if they could find a place to be,” as well as leaders in the region whom he said were working to find a solution to the devastation caused by more than 15 months of war between ****** and Israel.
“They were very positive about providing land,” Trump said. “What we need is land, and if we could build a nice place for people to live safely, everybody in Gaza would do it.”
He added: “They would love to get out of Gaza, but until now, they’ve never had an alternative. Now they have an alternative.”
A fragile ceasefire has paused the fighting in Gaza, but the conflict risks reigniting as ****** said it will postpone the release of more hostages. Trump has warned ****** to release all remaining hostages by Saturday, but warned Tuesday that he believes they could blow past it.
Netanyahu said Tuesday in a video statement posted to X that Israel is prepared to terminate the ceasefire agreement if ****** does not return all the remaining hostages by Saturday.

Court dismisses appeal of Trump’s classified documents case
Court dismisses appeal of Trump’s classified documents case
Two weeks after the Department of Justice, now under new leadership following Donald Trump’s reelection, moved to dismiss their appeal of Trump’s classified documents case, a circuit court formally dismissed the appeal of a case that once accused the president of mishandling some of the nation’s most sensitive secrets.
The dismissal marks the end of a series of federal criminal cases that once dogged Trump’s political future.
“Appellant’s ‘Unopposed Motion to Dismiss Appeal’ is GRANTED. This appeal is DISMISSED,” said the one-page order issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
MORE: Judge blocks DOJ from sharing Jack Smith’s classified docs report with members of Congress
Recently appointed Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Hayden O’Bryne moved to dismiss the appeal against Trump’s former co-defendants on Jan. 29.
Trump previously faced 40 criminal counts — including violations of nine separate federal laws — for allegedly holding on to classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021 and thwarting investigators’ efforts to retrieve the documents from his Mar-a-Lago estate. He pleaded not guilty to all charges in 2023.
Trump, along with longtime aide Walt Nauta and Mar-a-Lago staffer Carlos De Oliveira, pleaded not guilty in a superseding indictment to allegedly attempting to delete surveillance footage at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

Last summer, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon — who Trump appointed to the bench during his first term — dismissed the indictments against Trump, bucking decades of legal precedent by finding that special counsel Jack Smith had been unconstitutionally appointed.
Smith appealed Cannon’s decision but was ultimately forced to drop the appeal against Trump after Trump was reelected in November, due to a longstanding Department of Justice policy prohibiting the prosecution of a sitting president.
After O’Bryne moved to dismiss the appeal against Nauta and De Oliveira last month, Tuesday’s dismissal closes the book on the case.
