  1. Boise police hired Meridian officer amid ‘use of force’ investigation. Then this happened Boise police hired Meridian officer amid ‘use of force’ investigation. Then this happened The former Meridian police officer who made the news for using knee-on-neck force in an arrest last June is no longer in training with Boise police. In fact, he’s no longer with his new department at all. Haley Williams, a Boise police spokesperson, told the Idaho Statesman in an email Tuesday that Officer Bradley Chambers — who transferred to the department in September amid an internal review of his conduct in the June arrest in Meridian — was separated from Boise police on Jan. 17. Asked why, Williams said she couldn’t say. The Statesman previously reported that Chambers had been hired by Boise police in September, a day after voluntarily leaving the Meridian Police Department. As of October, Williams told the Statesman that Chambers was in training with Boise police. Williams confirmed Tuesday that Chambers was in field training, or in the field with a training officer, as of his separation in January. Chambers’ transfer to Boise in September came as the Meridian department’s Office of Professional Standards initiated an investigation into his arrest of a young Meridian man who allegedly failed to comply with Chambers’ orders while investigating a dirt-bike accident. As Meridian Police Officer Bradley Chambers subdues Samson Allen, 21, he directs younger brothers Jacks, 14, and Gannon, 18, who are videotaping the moment, to move away. The arrest, which has since been viewed by millions in videos online, culminated in Chambers forcing the young man to the ground and pressing his knee to the man’s neck for nearly a minute. The man now faces criminal misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and obstructing justice. Jordan Robinson, a spokesperson for the Meridian Police Department, told the Statesman in an email Tuesday that the use of force investigation has “been completed” but that she could not provide any additional information while the criminal case is ongoing. Asked what prompted Chambers’ separation from the Boise Police Department and whether the department received any findings from the internal review, Williams told the Statesman in an email Tuesday that she is unable to “release personnel information” or provide information beyond the date of separation. Before working at the Meridian or Boise departments, Chambers graduated from the Meridian-Nampa Joint Patrol Academy in 2022, the Statesman previously reported. Previous Statesman reporting also shows Chambers was a sergeant in the American Canyon Police Department in California as of 2018. Boise police declined the Statesman’s request in October to reach Chambers for comment. The Statesman emailed the Boise Police Union and its president, Officer Damen Jones, for comment but did not immediately receive a response. Meridian cop put his knee on a man’s neck. Man dies following Feb. 4 dog attack in Panama City Beach Man dies following Feb. 4 dog attack in Panama City Beach PANAMA CITY BEACH — The man who was mauled by a dog on Feb. 4 died on Sunday, Feb. 9. Michael Fabjon Jr., 49, was in the intensive care unit after the attack, which caused serious injuries to his neck and throat. The victim’s family will be hosting a service on Friday, Feb. 14, in Panama City. Readers can send flowers to the family or plant a tree in his memory. Details are available on Heritage ******** Home’s website. Friends can share memories or leave digital candles in condolence to the family. Panama City attorney Zachary Taylor has been retained by the family, which is seeking civil damages from the dog’s owners through a wrongful death claim, according to a news release from the Law Office of Manuel & Thomson. “On behalf of the grieving family, we are tasked with seeking answers and some form of justice for this senseless and preventable loss of life,” said Taylor in the release. “A dog owner is strictly liable for injuries and damages caused by their dog. Fabjon had injuries “…to his upper torso, body and chest areas.” The release goes on to say that the family thanks the good Samaritans who were on scene as well as local first responders and law enforcement officials who assisted. Fabjon was in the process of putting his dog up after breaking up a fight between his dog and a neighbor’s pit bull when he was attacked near 8115 Laird St.. The pit bull ran away after Fabjon broke up the fight, but then returned and took the man to the ground while biting his neck and violently shaking his head, authorities said. 8. Apple is reportedly partnering with Alibaba in China for AI features, and it makes sense after DeepSeek Apple is reportedly partnering with Alibaba in China for AI features, and it makes sense after DeepSeek Apple has reportedly partnered with Alibaba to bring AI features to the iPhone in China iPhone sales have slipped in China due to a lack of AI features Alibaba’s vast consumer data and AI expertise make it an ideal partner for Apple’s plans for China DeepSeek has been at the center of frenzied interest in ******** AI developers; even so, Apple is reportedly teaming up with ******** tech giant Alibaba to produce new AI features for iPhones sold in China, according to The Information. Apple has been keen to carve out a ******* piece of the smartphone market in China after a decline in recent years and is placing a bet on AI as the solution, and Alibaba might just be the partner to help produce appealing AI tools for its devices. The potential decision to work with a ******** company rather than simply deploying Apple Intelligence as it stands is not a complete surprise. Apple didn’t have much choice about finding a ******** partner to get its AI tools approved by regulators. However, Alibaba isn’t the expected partner, according to the report. Apple had apparently planned to work with Baidu before deciding that Baidu’s AI models weren’t quite what they wanted. The company reportedly considered offerings from other ******** AI developers, including e-commerce giant Tencent and TikTok owner ByteDance. Apple even considered teaming up with DeepSeek before its explosive debut in the U.S. However, according to the report, Apple ultimately ruled out DeepSeek because it simply didn’t have the workforce or experience to handle a deal of this scale. Ultimately, Alibaba emerged as Apple’s choice for a few reasons, according to the report. By far, the biggest is that Alibaba has access to a staggering amount of data on ******** consumers. With insights into shopping, payments, and general digital behavior, Alibaba’s AI could help Apple offer more personalized and localized features to iPhone users in China. Beyond the regulatory demands, Alibaba could also help Apple stand out from its ******** competitors. Huawei, in particular, has been ramping up its AI-enhanced smartphone sales for nearly a year, enticing those who might previously have bought iPhones. iPhone Alibaba Alibaba’s involvement might speed up the approval process for AI features with ******** regulators. Based on the report, Apple device owners in China might see some smarter Siri responses, improved search capabilities, and better personalization options appear on their devices as a result of the deal. Apple has long been known for tightly controlling its ecosystem. This partnership would force Apple to open up a little and relinquish some of that control to embed Alibaba’s AI. It’s a necessary compromise to stay in the ******** market, but it also raises questions about how regional differences will change Apple products. Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more. For now, Apple’s immediate goal is simple: make iPhones in China feel as cutting-edge as their local competitors. 11. Indianapolis fraudster behind multi-million dollar real estate Ponzi scheme sentenced Indianapolis fraudster behind multi-million dollar real estate Ponzi scheme sentenced A real estate fraudster who sold dilapidated Indianapolis homes to investors across the country has been sentenced to 41 months in prison, bringing to close a lengthy legal process that has at times frustrated victims. Herbert “Bert” Whalen, 50, was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in New Jersey after pleading guilty nearly three years ago to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Madeline Cox Arleo, also requires Whalen to pay a $5,000 fine and serve three years on supervised release after completing his prison sentence. The judge also said a restitution order must be submitted to the court by April 14. For now, he remains free on bond pending an order from the Bureau of Prisons directing him when and where to surrender. Whalen ran what prosecutors described as a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme in which he sold run-down homes to investors, many living out of Indiana, with a promise to fix them up and rent them out. In many cases he failed to make the repairs and then hid the poor condition of the homes. In some cases, he sent investors fake leases and a few months of rent money to dupe them into believing he was renting out the homes on their behalf. Whalen sold many of the homes with the help of his then-business partner Clayton Morris, a former Fox & Friends host with a popular YouTube show about real estate investing. Morris has been the subject of multiple civil lawsuits and a complaint from the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, but he has not been charged with any crime. Bert Whalen is accused of defrauding real estate investors across the country. “Mr. Whalen continues to accept responsibility for his offense and regrets taking part in this conspiracy,” Whalen’s attorney, John Tomkins, said in a statement to IndyStar. “We also regret no one else was held accountable for the losses of the investors.” Whalen and Morris were the focus of an IndyStar investigation in 2019 that identified dozens of disgruntled investors, including one who said he was never told that a home he purchased had burned down prior to closing. Others said they believed they were purchasing freshly renovated “turnkey” properties, only to learn later that the homes were uninhabitable or occupied by tenants living in deplorable conditions. After selling the homes, Whalen managed many of them on behalf of his out-of-state investors. His renters said they suffered in homes with sewage-filled basements, vermin infestations, and homes without heat. Several reported injuries from collapsing ceilings. IndyStar investigation: Part 1: Investors say ex-‘Fox & Friends’ host turned them into unwitting slumlords IndyStar investigation: Part 2: Renters lived ‘horrible.’ Their landlord lived large. The government helped him do it. Whalen, meanwhile, lived lavishly. He owned a yacht in Florida and resided in a waterfront home in Geist once owned by former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels. Shortly after IndyStar published its investigation, Morris sold his New Jersey home and left the country, moving his family to Portugal. He and his wife, former MSNBC anchor Natali Morris, cited their business troubles as a reason for the move, but denied that they were trying to avoid responsibility. They returned to the United States last year, after roughly five years. While Morris was abroad, a federal grand jury in New Jersey indicted Whalen in 2019. The Indiana Attorney General’s Office also filed a complaint against both men for violating Indiana’s deceptive sales and home loan acts in real estate deals involving more than 150 properties in Marion County. That case was paused pending the outcome of Whalen’s criminal case. Herbert “Bert” Whalen once lived in this waterfront home at Geist Reservoir. It was previously owned by former Gov. Mitch Daniels. In a statement, a spokesman for Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita said the office “will continue pursuing its claims against all of the defendants.” IndyStar reached out to Morris for comment, but did not immediately receive a response. Whalen’s sentencing represents the first time either man has faced any penalties from authorities, though Morris has settled multiple civil lawsuits filed by investors. The case has been a source of frustration for many investors. Whalen pleaded guilty in 2022, but his sentencing was delayed more than half a dozen times, mostly without any public explanation. The case was further complicated when Whalen was accused of continuing to defraud investors while awaiting sentencing. According to a complaint filed by the Indiana Attorney General’s Office last year, Whalen used the name “Herb Francis” to obscure his identity as he solicited investors through a new set of limited liability companies. In one case, the complaint says, he convinced an Oregon-based investor to purchase two properties for $154,900 and sign property management agreements, but then failed to fix up the properties as promised. Brian Freeman, a California investor, said he was relieved that Whalen will finally spend time in prison, but that it took far too long. “It’s better than nothing,” said Freeman, who purchased a property and received rent checks for about five months before a city inspector told him the home had been vacant for a long time and was infested with rats. “The public is protected for about three years from more predatory behavior.” He remains confused, however, about why Whalen’s more famous former business partner hasn’t been charged. He said there’s no way Morris didn’t know that investors were being deceived, given the torrent of complaints. “They both knew and were profiting off it,” Freeman said. 14. One Of The Biggest Changes Aldi Will Be Making In 2025 One Of The Biggest Changes Aldi Will Be Making In 2025 Expansion of stores in the United States and an increase in self-checkouts were among the changes Aldi boasted in 2024. However, 2025 is intended to be a big year for the retailer as it moves toward meeting its sustainability goals, particularly in terms of packaging. One of the primary focuses of Aldi’s business model is, after all, environmental stewardship, which is why it has reduced greenhouse gas emissions, achieved carbon neutrality, and uses 100% green electricity — in the U.K., for example, it has solar panels on more than 400 stores, and uses wind power for the rest of its energy needs. In 2019, Aldi noted in a press release that by 2025, the packaging for its products would be wholly reusable, recyclable, or compostable. In addition, it also made the promise to lessen its overall amount of packaging by 15%. The commitment to the changes was significant since at least 90% of the products stocked by the store are exclusive to the brand. In various markets, Aldi has successfully improved the eco-friendliness of its packaging from introducing compostable tea bags and steak trays and eliminating shrink wrap from some products to reducing the plastic used for cartons of grapes by 19%. In addition, the brand has increased the amount of recycled material it uses, halted the ***** of plastic bags in U.S. stores, made more recycling collection sites available at its stores, and improved labeling that helps consumers determine how to recycle a container. It has also introduced reusable bottles for drinks and is helping to cut down on waste by resizing its wine bottles. And while its annual sustainability report for this year has not yet been released as of this writing, the most recent report (which details progress from January to December of 2023) states that 76% of Aldi’s products are recyclable, compostable, or reusable. Read more: 14 Old-Fashioned Restaurant Dishes That Should Return More Ways Aldi Is Improving Sustainability Food is stored in the refrigerator section at Aldi. – eyematter/Shutterstock In addition to making improvements in packaging, the retailer known for requiring a quarter for a cart has committed to reaching other sustainability goals. In 2020, it aimed to reduce both direct and indirect emissions by 26% by 2025. With the introduction of natural refrigerants, the use of solar or wind energy, and the use of doors in refrigerated sections, among other initiatives, the retailer surpassed that goal well before its intended deadline. While not all of the stores and distribution centers may have received these upgrades, the chain is continuing to work toward reducing the carbon footprint of old and new locations. Another target for Aldi in 2025 is to minimize the amount of waste that winds up in landfills. By introducing programs that involve donating food and other products to charities, recycling and reusing necessary packaging and shipment materials, and composting food, Aldi was able to redirect just over ¾ of its waste by the end of 2023, not far from its end goal of at least 90% by the end of this year. Finally, Aldi’s dedication to making a positive contribution to the environment extends to the sourcing of its food. Also slated for 2025 are goals to ensure that all of its coffee and seafood are certified as being sourced responsibly and that its eggs are all cage-free, all with an eye on the affordability that the chain is known for. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert Our European spy photographers captured a camouflaged Q5 testing in cold weather conditions, a curiosity given the SUV has already been revealed. However, being surrounded by electric Porsche products such as the Macan and Cayenne – as well as the petrol 911 – suggests this Audi is being used as a test mule for the Stuttgart marque to assess before fully committing to the Macan backtrack. While the PPC architecture is currently exclusive to Audi, the Q5 and Macan have traditionally been closely related under the skin. Likewise, the Q6 e-tron – an electric alternative to the Q5 – is based on the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) as the Macan EV. Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert Should the Macan adopt the underpinnings of the Q5, it could be offered with a choice of turbocharged engines, ranging from 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol, a 3.0-litre V6 petrol and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel – all with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance. The internal combustion-powered Macan was axed from European showrooms in April 2024 as it no longer complied with strict cybersecurity laws, with the cost of conforming to the regulations potentially resulting in huge investments in the 10-year-old model. This impacted Australia too, with production of the locally delivered Macan wrapping up at the same time as Europe. The Macan has recently accounted for almost half of all Porsche sales in Australia. Earlier this week, Automotive News reported Porsche will take a US$831 million (A$1.33 billion) hit as a result of making a U-turn on its EV plans, as well as the costs associated with expanding its product portfolio with more combustion engine and plug-in hybrid models. 21. Gwinnett man who shot woman through door after she complained about loud music won’t be charged Gwinnett man who shot woman through door after she complained about loud music won’t be charged The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office has declined to prosecute a man who shot through his apartment door, striking an unarmed woman who raised concerns about loud music. “I did nothing to deserve this,” said Jalyne Evans-Jones, through tears. “It’s just so frustrating because it’s like they won’t even believe us.” She told Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson that she suffered serious injuries to her wrist and abdomen when Alejandro Querales-Morales fired a single shot through his closed apartment door at the Veranda Chase Apartments near Lawrenceville in August 2023, according to police. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The bullet struck Evans-Jones in the abdomen, damaging her liver and colon. She and her husband had gone to Querales-Morales’ door around 10 p.m. to ask him to lower his music after the complex’s quiet hours. “We knocked on the apartment door politely to ask them to lower the music because it was after the apartment’s quiet hours,” said Eric Jones, Evans-Jones’ husband. “We were thinking we were being neighborly, only to be met with a bullet being discharged behind a closed door.” Querales-Morales told investigators he looked through his peephole and saw what he believed to be a gun, prompting him to fire in self-defense. According to police reports, Querales-Morales said he had people over for a gathering and had drank “approximately seven beers” starting around 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. before the incident. A witness from a neighboring apartment told police she saw Jones with a gun in one hand and a phone in another shortly after hearing the gunshot. Jones explains this was after he had returned to his apartment to retrieve his keys and his firearm, following the shooting of his wife. “If I had a gun at that particular time, why would I not then turn around and discharge my firearm?” he asked. “There was no evidence that they could produce that would put a gun in my hand prior to that shooting occurring.” TRENDING STORIES: Initially charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct by Gwinnett police, the Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office later recommended upgrading the charge against Querales-Morales to aggravated battery. In a September 2023 memo, the Solicitor’s Office noted that Querales-Morales “fired a firearm through a door knowing that victim was standing directly outside of doorway.” The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office dismissed all charges in January 2025, citing self-defense as the reason for the dismissal. “There should be some accountability,” Evans-Jones said. “To not receive any kind of justice is hard.” Eric Jones says he will continue seeking justice for his wife. He is calling for three specific actions: a formal appeal to the District Attorney’s Office to reinstate felony charges based on the available evidence, an independent review of the case, and legislative action to prevent similar cases from being dismissed under self-defense claims. “I’m going to continue to advocate and fight for justice for my wife, which she rightfully deserves, if it takes the last breath,” he said. Detroit mom called city for help before 2 kids froze in casino parking garage Detroit mom called city for help before 2 kids froze in casino parking garage A Detroit mother reached out to the city’s homeless response team at least three times, the most recent in November, nearly three months before two of her children appear to have frozen to death on Monday while they slept in a van in a downtown casino parking structure. “In the course of that (November) conversation, there was no resolution reached on where they would go,” Mayor Mike Duggan said during a Tuesday news conference. Mayor Mike Duggan speaks at a news conference regarding two children who apparently froze to death in a casino parking garage, in Detroit on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025. During that call, the mother told a staffer with the homeless response team that she was staying with family but wouldn’t be able to stay there much longer, he said. Just a few miles from the Hollywood Casino in Greektown, where the mother parked the van on Monday, family beds were available at a shelter, Duggan said. The family did not call the city’s homeless response team back after that November call and the city never followed up with the family after the call, he said. “For whatever reason, this wasn’t deemed an emergency,” Duggan said. Duggan added the family had called the city’s homeless response team two other times, once in the summer and a time “in the previous year.” The mother also reportedly called shelters multiple times prior to Monday’s tragedy but was told they were full, according to Detroit Board of Police Commissioner Tamara Liberty Smith, who is also the director of Detroit Power Detroit Community Outreach, a transitional housing service the 29-year-old mother was referred to on Monday evening after police responded. Smith said the mother is lost without her children. She witnessed the mother ask God why he didn’t take her instead. The 9-year-old who died was the mother’s oldest child, Smith said. “They’re a family that’s trying. They didn’t want to abandon each other,” Smith said. “They weren’t expecting a tragedy like this.” Smith said the mother told her that her kids were in Ecorse schools. The grandmother works at a Popeyes location, Smith said, and the mother was scheduled to start an auto-related job in Flint on Wednesday. It’s a tragedy that must make the city rethink everything it’s doing to combat homelessness, Duggan said. He asked for an investigation by Deputy Mayor Melia Howard and the city’s housing department that would determine what went wrong and what is needed to make sure nothing like this happens again. That report is due in two weeks. “The full strength of this administration is behind this effort,” Howard said. “No parent, no family, no mother should ever have to endure such hardship and heartbreak. … As Detroiters, I know that we will lift them up in our hearts.” Two children apparently froze to death while they slept in a van at Hollywood Casino at Greektown parking garage in downtown Detroit on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, according to Detroit police. The mother, her four children, their grandmother and the grandmother’s child, were living in the van, according to Detroit police. They were evicted from an apartment on the east side, then lived with family until November, when the mother called the city’s homeless response team, said Capt. Nathan Duda. Police said the mother pulled a van into the Hollywood Casino at Greektown parking garage at about 1 a.m., drove up to the ninth floor, and parked. But the car stopped running in the middle of the night due to some sort of mechanical error, so the mother called a family friend to come help, Interim Police Chief Todd Bettison said on Tuesday. The family friend was there when, shortly after noon on Monday, the mother noticed one of her children, a 9-year-old boy, was not breathing and called police. The family friend took the child to the hospital. But then police said the children’s grandmother reported that another child, a 2-year-old girl, was also not breathing. The friend returned to the parking structure to take the girl to the hospital. Both children died. Cause of death hasn’t yet been confirmed by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office, but police said it appears the children froze to death. The temperature early Monday was in the low- to mid-teens. The three surviving children were hospitalized and are in stable condition, police said. Interim Police Chief Todd Bettison speaks at a news conference alongside Mayor Mike Duggan regarding two children who apparently froze to death in a casino parking garage, in Detroit on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025. Bettison said police are investigating, but that doesn’t mean there will be criminal charges against anyone in the tragedy. He said his department will present the facts to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, who will decide whether charges are appropriate. Hollywood Casino referred calls to Detroit police and said through spokesperson Jason Brown they would not be providing a statement at this time. Duggan said 400 more shelter beds and additional 100 beds for drop-in emergencies were added in Detroit this winter. Homeless response teams were also made available 24/7. But he wants the city to ramp up its response when children are experiencing homelessness by requiring immediate on-site visits, and he said the city needs to do better communicating resources to those who need it the most. The New McFall Brothers ******** Home in Detroit has donated its services for the family to cover ******** costs, said the Rev. Julius Baker, community relations liaison. “We hope that by stepping in to assist, we can not only bring some comfort to this family but also inspire others to join in efforts to protect and support those in need,” Baker said in a news release. Shelter director says system is ‘broken’ The current referral system to get into homeless shelters — the Coordinated Assessment Model or CAM— has loopholes and is “broken,” according to Chad Audi, president and CEO of Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, which runs shelters and warming centers. The system lacks 24/7 help, and people are placed in a ******. It can take anywhere from 10 to 15 days to get into a shelter, according to what Audi has heard from clients. For people facing homelessness in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park, CAM is the primary way to access shelter and other housing help. CAM, before a management handover, received sharp criticism from users about their experience using the system. Users had said they faced long wait times and that CAM failed to follow up. The referral system had changed the way it places people in shelters last year, based on need and not on a first-come, first-served basis, to make it easier for people to get help and operators had sought to make improvements. Audi called for more changes, such as a 24/7 call center with transportation services. “A homeless person needs a quick answer. They’re in an emergency. It’s like when you’re going to the emergency room in the hospital, you can’t go tell a person, ‘Oh, OK, well, we’ll see you later,’ ” he said. The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries has about 650 beds across its shelters and warming centers and is at full capacity, but the nonprofit has about 50 beds on a given day for emergencies, Audi said. The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries looked through its records and it doesn’t appear that the family called his organization, he said. Those who need additional help can call the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries at 313-993-4700. A van blocks the upper levels of the parking garage at Hollywood Casino at Greektown in downtown Detroit on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025. Frigid temperatures can be deadly for people experiencing homelessness and out on the streets. In metro Detroit, and across the country, homelessness has been on the rise. Last year, there were 1,725 people facing homelessness, both sheltered and unsheltered, in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park — a 16% increase from the year before, according to a one-night count conducted in January by the Detroit Continuum of Care, the Homeless Action Network of Detroit and the city of Detroit. Among those tallied, 728 were families. About 300 people, including 28 families, were unsheltered, meaning they were sleeping in places not typically meant for human habitation. Across the country, the number of people experiencing homelessness on one night last year set a record high, according to a U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development report to Congress. Roughly 23 out of every 10,000 people in the U.S. faced homelessness, likely because of a lack of affordable housing and rising inflation, among other reasons, HUD said. Nearly 150,000 children were unhoused on that single night — a 33% increase from 2023. The one-night tally is likely an undercount of the homeless population. Homelessness, housing experts have said, is not a monolith. It has multiple root causes, from mental health challenges and substance abuse to evictions and affordability hurdles. Where to find resources for shelters, warming centers Warming centers and respite locations are available across metro Detroit. Wintertime and frigid conditions can be fatal for those who are homeless and living out on the streets.
