The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II review [SideQuesting]
NoobFeed editor Wasbir writes – Trails Through Daybreak II expands on the previous game with better mechanics, more in-depth character customization, and a larger story. On the other hand, the tempo is disrupted by the forced narrative framework and the recurrent boss fights. Although the Mare Garden and Time Leap mechanics introduce new features, they also bring with them the potential for some boredom.

Shein’s annual profit down by more than a third, FT reports
A shopper carries a bag with promotional merchandise while visiting fashion retailer Shein’s Christmas bus tour, in Manchester, Britain, December 13, 2024.
Temilade Adelaja | Reuters
Online fast-fashion retailer Shein’s profit dropped by more than a third last year, adding to its challenges ahead of a planned listing on the London Stock Exchange, the Financial Times reported on Sunday.
Net profit was down almost 40% at $1 billion in 2024, the report said, citing two people with knowledge of the matter.
Shein’s sales for the full year rose by 19% to $38 billion, the report said, adding that the figures were from internal projections ahead of finalized accounts.
The company does not publish profit guidance but the 2024 figures were far lower than the $4.8 billion in net profit and $45 billion in sales it had projected for 2024, the report added, citing a presentation seen by the newspaper.
Shein did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Reuters this month reported that Shein was set to cut its valuation in the planned initial public offering (IPO) in London by almost a quarter to about $50 billion. Bloomberg reported last week that Shein was under pressure to cut its valuation as low as $30 billion
The Financial Times has also reported that the London listing could be postponed to the second half of the year after U.S. President Donald Trump moved to end a tax exemption enjoyed by Shein, potentially denting profitability and pushing up its prices in the United States.

1 AI Robotics Stock to Buy Before It Soars 285% to $5 Trillion, According to a Wall Street Expert
1 AI Robotics Stock to Buy Before It Soars 285% to $5 Trillion, According to a Wall Street Expert
Billionaire Ron Baron is the founder and CEO of Baron Capital, an asset management company that oversees several mutual funds. The Baron Partners Fund returned 29% annually over the last five years, while the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) returned 15% annually over the same *******.
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has consistently been the largest position in the portfolio. As of December 2024, it accounted for 41% of the fund, up from 38% in the prior year. And Ron Baron remains bullish. He recently told CNBC that Tesla may be worth $5 trillion within a decade. That prediction implies 285% upside from its current market value of $1.3 trillion.
Baron sees the catalysts for that price appreciation in autonomous driving technology and robotics. Here are the important details.
Tesla reported disappointing financial results in 2024 as it balanced high interest rates (which hurt demand) and price cuts (which hurt profitability). Deliveries fell 1% to 1.79 million, the first annual decline in company history. Revenue increased by just 1% to $97 billion, operating margin narrowed by 2 percentage points, and non-GAAP net income fell 22% to $2.42 per diluted share.
On the bright side, Tesla narrowly held its leadership position in global battery-electric car sales despite losing 2.5 percentage points of market share last year. And CEO Elon Musk says key catalysts this year will lay the groundwork for an “epic 2026” and a “ridiculously good” 2027 and 2028. One such catalyst is a sub-$30,000 vehicle reportedly called the Model Q, set to launch in the first half of 2025.
More importantly, Tesla reported a 1,000-fold improvement in its full self-driving (FSD) software last year, measured by miles between critical interventions. As such, the company will launch an autonomous ride-sharing (robotaxi) service in Austin in June 2025, followed by “several other cities in America by the end of this year,” according to Musk.
Meanwhile, Tesla is using its artificial intelligence (AI) expertise to build humanoid robots called Optimus. The company plans to manufacture 10,000 Optimus in 2025, and Musk says they will be doing useful work in Tesla factories this year. He also thinks Tesla may sell Optimus models to other companies as early as the second half of 2026, though he admits there is a great deal of speculation in that timeline.
Alphabet’s Waymo launched its robotaxi service to the public in Phoenix in December 2018 and has since expanded to several other cities. I have personally ridden in a Waymo in San Francisco, and the experience was incredible. So, Tesla is behind the curve. However, the company has theoretical data and cost advantages that may help its autonomous ride-sharing platform scale more quickly in the future.
Story Continues
Data advantage: Tesla’s fleet includes millions of autopilot-enabled cars that capture video data. Ark Invest estimates Tesla collects data from 3.5 billion miles annually, while Waymo collects data from 37 million miles annually. That means Tesla is collecting data about 90 times faster than Waymo, so the company should be able to more effectively train the AI models that power its FSD software.
Cost advantage: Tesla’s FSD platform is powered entirely by computer vision, meaning the software makes driving decisions based solely on inputs from eight external cameras. As a result, the company says it can build a robotaxi for $25,000. Comparatively, Waymo’s sixth-generation cars have 13 cameras, 4 lidar, and 6 radar. That equipment alone costs as much as $100,000, according to co-CEO Dmitri Dolgov.
Here’s the bottom line: Robotaxis could be transformative for Tesla. Ark Invest estimates robotaxis could be a $10 trillion addressable market by 2030, and Elon Musk says FSD software could push Tesla’s gross margin to 70%. Comparatively, the company reported a gross margin of 17.9% last year.
Musk recently told analysts that Tesla has “the most advanced humanoid robot by a long shot.” Initially, Optimus will handle burdensome or dangerous factory work, but the robot will eventually have enough dexterity and precision to thread a needle and play the piano, which opens a near-infinite number of possible applications.
As mentioned, the company plans to build about 10,000 Optimus in 2025, and Musk says those robots will be working in Tesla factories by year-end. Data gathered from the robots will inform production decisions on the second model, which is expected to launch in 2026. So, Tesla may sell Optimus to other companies as early as the second half of next year.
Importantly, on the fourth-quarter earnings call, Musk said, “Optimus has the potential to be north of $10 trillion in revenue.” He has also said on several occasions that Optimus will eventually be the most valuable product Tesla makes, so much so that it may be the most valuable company in the world. “There is a path where Tesla is worth more than the next top five companies combined,” Musk recently told analysts.
Wall Street expects Tesla’s adjusted earnings to increase by 22% annually through 2027, making the current valuation of 140 times adjusted earnings look absurd. However, the consensus estimate does not account for potentially explosive earnings growth after the introduction of autonomous ride-sharing services and humanoid robots.
Admittedly, Tesla is a very risky investment because expectations about its AI products are already factored into the valuation to some degree. That means the stock could ****** if Tesla fails to scale its robotaxi and robotics businesses. But it also means the stock could be worth much more in the future if the company realizes those goals. Investors need to decide for themselves which outcome they see as most probable.
Personally, I believe Tesla will eventually make good on its promises, which may lead to a $5 trillion market value. But I have been wrong before.

The Trump administration sent emails on Saturday evening to U.S. federal government employees telling them to detail their work accomplishments from the previous week by Monday night or risk losing their jobs.
The emails came shortly after Elon Musk, the billionaire head of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, posted on the social media site X that not responding to the email request would be viewed as a resignation.
“All federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week,” Musk posted on X. “Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.” Musk issued his post just hours after President Donald Trump posted on his own social media network, Truth Social, that DOGE should get more aggressive in its attempts to downsize and reshape the 2.3 million-strong federal workforce.
As of Saturday evening, emails were sent to employees across federal agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and others with the subject line, “What did you do last week?”
How Elon Musk’s DOGE took over the Education Department, one office at a time
The email, seen by Reuters, asks employees to reply with five bullet points summarizing “what you accomplished at work last week,” and to copy their managers.
It was sent from a human resources address from the Office of Personnel Management, and gives employees until 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday to respond.
It is unclear what legal basis Musk has to terminate federal workers if they fail to respond to his request and what would happen to employees that cannot detail confidential work.
Some federal judiciary employees received the email on Saturday from OPM, even though the court system is not part of the executive branch, people familiar with the matter said. The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the judiciary’s administrative arm, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Workers at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau also received the email, according to people with knowledge of the matter. However, most agency staff had been ordered not to perform any tasks since early this month, creating a conundrum. The agency is also under a temporary court order not to resume mass firings pending the outcome of legal proceedings.
A spokesperson for DOGE did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Union promises fight
The AFGE, the union representing federal employees, said in a statement it will challenge any “unlawful terminations.”
“Once again, Elon Musk and the Trump administration have shown their utter disdain for federal employees and the critical services they provide to the American people,” said Everett Kelley, the AFGE’s president.
Trump, DOGE mass job cuts: Federal workers’ money questions answered
The Trump administration’s fast-paced and controversial process to reduce government spending by shrinking the federal workforce spearheaded by Musk and his young aides at the cost-cutting DOGE has led to haphazard firings that resulted in numerous mistakes and forced several agencies to quickly rehire vital employees, such as those working on nuclear safety, defense and power generation.
The first wave of job cuts has targeted workers who are easier to fire, such as probationary employees on the job for less than two years or those who have started new roles within an agency. The indiscriminate firings have led to DOGE terminating people whose jobs are not funded by taxpayers and have begun to anger people across the country who are concerned about a loss of services and the impact of federal job losses on local economies.
Trump has repeatedly talked about Musk as the functional leader of DOGE, which is not a cabinet-level department, but the White House said in a court filing this month that Musk had no authority over DOGE and was not an employee of the program.
Some federal agencies sent follow-up emails to employees advising staff not to respond to the email over the weekend as they assess its validity and devise a protocol for responding to the message. “To be clear, this is irregular, unexpected and warrants further validation by management,” said one email sent to NOAA employees and seen by Reuters.
The Executive Office for United States Attorneys also sent an email, seen by Reuters, to employees, advising them to wait to respond until they verify the validity of the emails.
Some federal employees, already on edge after two weeks of mass firings, expressed outrage after receiving the email.
“After more than two decades of working in federal service, which includes all outstanding performance reviews and something like 18 performance awards, someone at OPM is going to read my five bullets and decide if I’m productive enough?” a source at a federal agency said.

Joby Aviation: Buy, Sell, or Hold?
Joby Aviation: Buy, Sell, or Hold?
Imagine soaring above the bustling streets of a city, gliding through the sky to your destination. This innovative mode of transportation, known as eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing), has the potential to revolutionize urban mobility.
These futuristic vehicles use modern battery technology, which allows for quiet operation and supports nimble vertical take-offs and landings. This makes them suited for navigating urban landscapes. With the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently introducing regulations to facilitate this emerging technology, the dream of soaring above the gridlock is edging closer to reality.
Joby Aviation (NYSE: JOBY) is one company leading the way in this exciting technology. The stock has surged 60% since November, although it has recently come off its highs. If you’re looking to invest in this innovative company, you should know a few things first.
Joby Aviation’s S4 aircraft is designed to carry four passengers over a range of 150 miles per charge. This has made the company an appealing investment opportunity for major players across the transportation sector. Some of Joby’s key partnerships include industry giants Toyota Motor, Delta Air Lines, and Uber Technologies.
Toyota is a major investor in Joby and has helped support its manufacturing and technology development. Last October, the automaker invested $500 million to support the certification and commercial production of its air taxi, bringing its total investment in Joby to $894 million.
Toyota will play an important role in helping Joby manufacture and commercialize its product, which is vital for Joby’s success while it is still in its pre-commercial, pre-revenue stage.
Image source: Joby Aviation. The Joby S4 eVTOL.
One of Joby’s biggest competitors is Archer Aviation, although the two companies take different approaches. Archer relies on legacy aerospace suppliers; Joby embraces a vertically integrated model, developing its components and systems in-house.
This approach could enable Joby to engineer a higher-performing eVTOL capable of extended ranges. But it’s worth noting that this capital-intensive strategy may introduce challenges to the company’s speed to market compared to Archer’s outsourced approach.
The movement to commercialize flying taxis is gaining momentum. In October, the FAA made a big step for advanced air mobility (AAM) by releasing its final Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) concerning powered-lift pilot certification and operation. This new rule facilitates the widespread use of air taxis and has been described as “broadly positive” by the investment bank Canaccord.
Story Continues
Joby plans to launch its commercial operations in Dubai by late 2025. It is constructing its first vertiport (as its flight operations center is called) at Dubai International Airport, featuring two take-off and landing stands equipped with rapid charging capabilities for use between flights.
From there, Joby plans to develop other vertiports in the emirate in Palm Jumeirah, downtown Dubai, and Dubai Marina.
Joby aims to begin commercial operations in the U.S. by 2026. The company intends to launch its air taxi service in high-density markets, starting with Los Angeles and New York City.
Image source: Joby Aviation. A Joby eVTOL with the Statue of Liberty in the background.
Before that can occur, Joby needs to obtain FAA Type Certification. This process ensures that Joby’s flying vehicles meet the necessary safety and airworthiness standards, which will be crucial for its timeline to achieve commercial operations.
Joby has completed three of the five stages required to achieve certification. In its third-quarter presentation to shareholders, the company said that it is currently in the testing and analysis phase and has submitted several documents to the FAA regarding various components, including propeller systems, electric models, and flight controls.
Joby is looking to ramp up commercial operations this year, but the company will continue to burn cash as it works toward certifications, greater production, and the start of commercial operations. After its investment from Toyota, it had $1.4 billion in cash and investments, and analysts project the company will continue to burn cash for the next several years as it grows.
The eVTOL technology is exciting, but hurdles remain before it becomes a commercial success. Even if the company starts operations as soon as this year, it could take the public time to grow comfortable with air taxis and for the service to develop into a large-scale commercial market.
Joby may be for you if you’re aggressive, don’t mind the volatile swings, and size your investment appropriately. However, for now, the company still has a lot to do. I think it’s a sell, but I will keep it on a watch list and monitor its progress toward certification and production. Future breakthroughs could be a chance to buy, but I still think it’s too early for investors to own this stock today.
Ever feel like you missed the boat in buying the most successful stocks? Then you’ll want to hear this.

Russia launched a large-scale drone attack on Saturday night, causing civilian casualties across Ukraine, official have said.
Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for Ukraine’s Air Force Command, said a “record” 267 Russian drones were launched in a single, coordinated attack.
Among them, 138 were intercepted by air defence while 119 disappeared from radars after being jammed and did not cause any damage.
While many were repelled, emergency services reported drone strikes causing destruction and fires in a number of regions overnight.
The strike comes a day before the third anniversary of the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
It is not clear how many people have died, but initial figures from emergency services suggest there were at least three casualties.
Two people died in a strike on a residential building in Kherson, in southern Ukraine – a man and a mother of twins, the Ukrainian state emergency services said.
Regional authorities also confirmed that one man died and at least three were wounded following a strike on the central city of Kryvyi Rih.
Meanwhile, a 53-year-old woman was hospitalised after being injured in a drone attack in Zaporizhzhia, and firefighters were called to extinguish multiple fires in the capital, Kyiv.
Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Kltischko wrote on Telegram that the multi-wave drone attacks on the capital had damaged several houses and cars but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
Drones were intercepted in at least 13 regions including Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mykolayiv and Odesa, according to Ukrainian authorities.
The Ukrainian air force also reported that Russia launched three ballistic missiles overnight.
Meanwhile, Russia’s defence ministry said on Sunday that 20 Ukrainian drones launched into Russia were “destroyed” overnight.

Covid lockdown saved my life, says Ammanford woman with OCD
Covid lockdown saved my life, says Ammanford woman with OCD

Alys-Mai
A 22-year-old woman with OCD says the Covid-19 lockdown saved her life.
Alys-Mai, from Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, has lived with the condition since she was 17, but said symptoms started three years before that.
She said it led her to some dark places, but lockdown “saved my life because everything was under control. I was just in my room, I didn’t see anyone outside”.
Between 1 and 2% of the *** population has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), according to charity OCD action.
Alys-Mai noticed “something inside me wasn’t quite right” when she was 14.
“I believe there was some kind of imbalance in me that switched in my brain and that made my anxiety go to another level,” she told Cymru Fyw.
“This was based on compulsions and events and activities to make me feel better.
“The only way I could settle this anxiety was these compulsions.”
She said she heard voices in her head saying “touch this or this is going to happen, this was the only thing going on in my brain for years”.
“If I didn’t complete the compulsion then my day was ruined.”

Alys-Mai says her day would be “ruined” if she did not complete her compulsions
Alys-Mai understood the condition would likely be part of her life forever, but said she now understands how to deal with it.
She emphasized how important it was to normalise the conversation about the condition because of how “difficult” it is to explain.
“I know that a lot of people think that OCD is a quirky thing, in terms of cleaning, but there is also the element of compulsions,” she said.
“OCD is a really big thing and it’s really hard to tackle it yourself because there are so many elements.”
Martha Ifan, from Carmarthen, also has OCD and has written a play called 12 to raise awareness.
“I thought it was very important to write about OCD because I thought it was a subject that is often misrepresented,” she said.
She added it was “a condition that is misunderstood by many people so I wanted to write an honest portrait of the condition”.
She wrote the play initially for the Urdd Eisteddfod competition and developed it into an hour-long performance.

“The idea was to raise awareness of OCD and create an honest picture of the condition… and once I had the idea I couldn’t stop writing,” said Martha.
“One of my main intentions was to break down a taboo and to facilitate the conversation about mental health.
“It is a wonderful experience that something good has come from a condition that is very difficult to live with and the most important thing for me is to start a conversation and spread a much wider picture of the condition.
“The main aim is that people leave the theatre having learned something and that there is a conversation about the condition and that people come to understand how the condition can affect individuals.”
