Two men **** after boat capsizes off Kangaroo Island, SA

Two men have ***** after a boating tragedy in the waters off one of Australia’s premier tourism destinations.

A boat was found upturned in the waters off Kangaroo Island in South Australia about 4.15pm on Tuesday, sparking a large-scale search operation with emergency services, the local coast guard and a police helicopter unit.

“Two bodies were subsequently located in the water near the boat,” the police said on Wednesday morning.

“The two men, both aged 65-years-old and both from Kingscote, were recovered by emergency personnel.

“The Water Operations Unit will be attending the scene this morning and will attempt to recover the vessel.”

Investigations into the deaths are continuing and SafeWork SA has been notified, the police added.

The police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
