) — A Mobile Police Department sergeant was arrested Tuesday night in Baldwin County, according to MPD.

Sgt. Chris Alan Reed was booked into the Baldwin County Jail around 9 p.m. Aug. 13 on one count of attempting to commit a controlled substance ******.

According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest was made in connection with a narcotics operation from the Baldwin County ***** Task Force.

According to officials, Reed has been with the department since 2012 and has been part of the domestic ********* unit.

Baldwin County officials said the charge follows an attempted undercover ***** buy of ***** on the Eastern Shore. Reed was in a city vehicle during the attempted buy.

MPD said Reed has been placed on administrative leave.
