The reptile can be seen walking along the ocean waters outside the Sand Dunes Resort in Myrtle Beach.

The lifeguard cleared the waters and the area to make room for the beachgoers, according to witnesses.

Additional information about the alligator and whether it was removed was unavailable.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said Monday that it had not received any calls about the alligator.

A spokesperson for the SCDNR said that the alligator was removed by Myrtle Beach Police department under its permit from the SCDNR.
