Modern Warfare 2 campaign was remastered and released in 2020 after the success of the CoD 4 Remaster. However, different reasons have been cited as to why it was only the campaign and not the hugely popular online multiplayer—namely MW2 Remastered multiplayer outshining the newest CoD release.
