Australia is revelling in their historic success at the Paris Games, but when it comes to per capita calculations, our friends across the ditch have us well covered.

Australia won a record 18 gold medals, while their total haul of 53 medals is second only behind Sydney’s 58 to claim fourth in the overall medal table.
