This is how Walz congratulated the team for its State Championship victory back in 2022:

Congratulations on an undefeated season and winning the Minnesota Varsity League State Championship in Valorant. Competitive success requires more than mere physical strength and agility; it also demands mental fortitude and tactical planning.

He has also acknowledged that right now eSports is on the rise, and he was extremely proud of the team and the role they have taken to grow eSports participation at Apple Valley High School.

He also believed gaming, as a hobby, could soon turn into a potentially life-changing career in a new and innovative realm of sports as well. However, not every time the eSports sector of this game is highly appreciated.
