Sampson underwent plastic surgery on Saturday night to repair wounds on her face, including a 5cm gash that narrowly missed her right eye. It is alleged Sampson was attacked at The Landing just before 10.30pm on Friday night, when an argument broke out. It is then alleged a 20-year-old woman then hit Ms Sampson in the face with a wine glass, causing serious injury. Maria Sampson said she hoped by speaking out she could help stop a similar ******* from happening to someone else’s daughter. She said the alleged glassing on her daughter was unprovoked and had her scared to leave the house. She said her daughter had not been drinking on the night of the alleged *******. “It’s devastating. It’s just changed the course of her life going forward,” she said. “It’s pure evil. I just don’t understand how someone, especially another girl of her age that knows they’re so cautious about the way they look, could do that.” A Two Rocks woman was charged with unlawful wounding over the incident, appearing in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday, she was released on bail and will reappear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on September 4. Ms Sampson said she wanted justice for Taiya. “I think the system needs to change. I think they need to be protective more of the person who has been attacked,” she said.
