The Cook Government refuses to be drawn on a closure date for the notorious Unit 18 and poured cold water on a key suggestion made by top witnesses at Cleveland Dodd’s inquest.

While the probe is still underway and now slated to run for a third tranch in October, coroner Phil Urqhuart and his counsel assisting Anthony Crocker have repeatedly pressed Department of Justice top brass on when the controversial juvenile detention unit will be closed.
