Cook Government to provide $400k for Cottesloe Beach summer shark barrier

The world-famous Cottesloe Beach is set to get a new shark barrier this summer, after the WA Government agreed to stump up $400,000 for the project.

The barrier, announced by Fisheries Minister Don Punch, will replace the Town of Cottesloe’s current 310 metre long beach enclosure, with the council being responsible for ongoing maintenance costs, estimated to be $120,000 a year.
