You’d be hard-pressed to find anything close to the quality and complexity of these Victorian, silken-textured, terroir-driven wines at this price from France. Moondarra is the passion project of free-thinking, bon vivant and wagyu farmer Neil Prentice. Occupying what he describes as the “post-natural” wine scene, this expressive pinot is wild fermented, matured on lees, in barrel for extra depth and texture and bottled unfiltered. It’s a vibrant, edgy, tension-filled ripper of a pinot. Expect flavours of cherry, raspberry, cocoa, soft earthy tannins, all wrapped in a fresh, cranberry-like acidity. Highly recommended. 94/100 Premium Subscribers with digital access can view this article. Already a subscriber? Login here.
