A newly uncovered photograph of convicted ********* Mark Dixie, taken near the scene of an ******* on a woman in Victoria Park, shows how close he came to being caught before being deported.

As part of an investigation by The Sunday Times into Dixie’s life in WA between 1996 and 1999, a 1997 article from the Canning Times newspaper was found in State Library archives, accompanied by a photo taken by police in the hours after the woman was held down in a late-night ********. The assailant fled when she screamed.
