Η ΗΠΑ, η Αίγυπτος και το Κατάρ προσκαλούν το Ισραήλ και τη Χαμάς να συναντηθούν στις 15η Αυγούστου για διαπραγματεύσεις με σκοπό την επίτευξη εκεχειρίας στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας. Ωστόσο, η Χαμάς δεν έχει απαντήσει ακόμα, ενώ ο Ιράν παρουσιάζει νέους βαλλιστικούς πυραύλους και απειλεί με αντίποινα κατά του Ισραήλ μετά τη δολοφονία ενός Ιρανού στην Τεχεράνη. Οι διαπραγματεύσεις φαίνεται να εστιάζονται στην αποφυλάκιση ηγετών της Χαμάς από ισραηλινές φυλακές. Η κατάπαυση του πυρός στη Γάζα παραμένει η προτεραιότητα για το Ιράν, που υποσχέθηκε αντίδραση που δεν θα επηρεάσει τις διαπραγματεύσεις.
