It was initially reported there were five lightning strikes in the area of Alexander Mountain, which was also suspected as a possible cause. As investigators visited the point of origin last weekend, neither cause type was ruled out at the time. “Investigators are particularly interested in information about anyone who was in the area immediately east and below the peak of Alexander Mountain, photos of the ***** between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. on July 29, 2024, and information from anyone who spends time in the Alexander Mountain area,” an email update from the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland says.
