said that at 11:52 p.m., they were called to the Walgreens at the 4800 block of North Sheridan Road after they received a report of two people damaging the windows attempting to get inside. However, when officers arrived on scene, the suspects had fled.

A few moments later, a 14-year-old and 13-year-old boy were found matching the description of the subjects in the 100 block of West Northland Avenue. Both teens tried to flee on foot, but they were eventually apprehended and arrested.

The attempted burglary was the second time in as many days that teenagers were arrested trying to break into a local business. Another pair of teenagers were arrested in an armed robbery Wednesday at a McDonald’s on North Knoxville Avenue. Both suspects in that case are also being held at the JDC.
