I-15 SB lanes closed near Las Vegas Strip due to deadly freeway *********: police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Las Vegas police have closed all lanes along I-15 southbound from Spring Mountain Road to Flamingo following a freeway ********* involving two vehicles.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, the ********* took place on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. when a driver headed south on I-15 between Spring Mountain and Flamingo roads was shot at by a person in another car.

The person who was hit then crashed into a center median. That person was taken to a hospital where he passed away, police said.

The transit authority’s email alert system started sending out the message shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday that two lanes were blocked at Flamingo Road. By 9:05 p.m. another message was sent out by RTC that all lanes were blocked at Spring Mountian Road.

Drivers were advised to use other routes. No other information has been released.
