Drops campaign was a little rough. It required viewers to sit there and grind streams for hours on end, and the longer they watched, the better the rewards became. It meant that users needed to have streams running in the background for several hours a day, and more often than not, the rewards weren’t all that good.

It’s a nice enough way to kick off Tarkov’s next wipe, though. It means that the game is guaranteed to find immense popularity (as always) on the leading streaming platform. It has been a rocky year or so for Escape from Tarkov, with the developer, Battlestate Games, having made some sketchy moves that have left the community in dismay at times.

For instance, a few months ago, the team revealed ‘The Unheard Edition’, a new high-tier edition of the game that broke promises and disappointed gamers worldwide, packaging up elements that were previously promised to be included in earlier purchases and stuffing them behind paywalls. Most recently, BSG suffered from a super-sized technical malfunction that wiped the profiles of thousands of players worldwide.
