The 20th anniversary of Hurricane Charley is Aug. 13.

Yes, it has been two decades since the Friday the 13th storm, considered at the time to be one of the worst to hit Florida’s west coast, clobbered communities from Fort Myers Beach to Sanibel Island and up to Punta Gorda in Charlotte County.
