Ο Ολυμπιακός αντιμετώπισε τη Νότιγχαμ Φόρεστ σε ένα φιλικό παιχνίδι στο «Γ. Καραϊσκάκης» και παρόλο που είχε επιθετική παρουσία, έχασε με 4-3. Οι φιλοξενούμενοι εκμεταλλεύτηκαν τα λάθη και τις αδράνειες της ομάδας του Μεντιλίμπαρ και έφυγαν με τη νίκη. Ο Μαρτίνς ήταν ένας από τους κορυφαίους του Ολυμπιακού, σημειώνοντας δύο γκολ. Ενώ ο Μεντιλίμπαρ δοκίμασε νέες προσεγγίσεις και έδωσε ευκαιρία σε νέους παίκτες. Η αντίδραση των γηπεδούχων μειώθηκε με το γκολ του Βέλντε στο τέλος του αγώνα.
