“It’s fast-paced, like the movement and adding that slide mechanic sort of makes a world of difference when it comes to being able to run and ****,” Kassa said of the game’s movement mechanics.

The Splitgate 2 gameplay trailer also clears up some of the confusion regarding the game’s factions, a new gameplay feature that was absent from the original Splitgate. Splitgate 2 will feature three factions:

• Aeros: This is the class for the movement-lovers. Players who join this faction gain increased agility, with quicker reloads and faster sprinting.
• Meridian: The Meridian faction is effectively a support class, giving players who join it the ability to heal themselves and their allies. Members of the Meridian faction can also use a scan function to see enemies through walls.
• Sabrask: This faction is more focused on defense, and is ideal for players who are either new to using portals, or simply don’t wish to focus their gameplay around them. While not as mobile as the other factions, players who choose to join Sabrask will gain access to helpful defensive tools like a damage-blocking wall and sticky grenades.

The four-minute trailer marks the first time players have gotten an extended look at Splitgate 2’s gameplay. Although the game doesn’t yet have an official release date, 1047 Games has confirmed that Splitgate 2 will launch on console and PC sometime in 2025.
