Η JP Morgan αύξησε τις πιθανότητες για ύφεση στην αμερικανική οικονομία στο 35%, ενώ η Goldman Sachs ανέβασε το ποσοστό ύφεσης στο 25% τα επόμενα 12 μήνες. Οι ανησυχίες περί ύφεσης αυξήθηκαν λόγω της αύξησης της ανεργίας στις ΗΠΑ και της ρευστοποίησης θέσεων στο carry trade του γεν. Οι αγορές προβλέπουν με σιγουριά μείωση των επιτοκίων και αναμένουν την Fed να προχωρήσει σε περαιτέρω μειώσεις. Η JP Morgan προβλέπει πως η Fed θα μειώσει τα επιτόκια τουλάχιστον 100 μονάδες βάσης μέχρι το τέλος του έτους. Αναλυτές της JP Morgan ανέφεραν ότι ο πληθωρισμός στους μισθούς επιβραδύνεται περισσότερο σε σχέση με άλλες ανεπτυγμένες οικονομίες.
