Ο Ρετζέπ Ταγίπ Ερντογάν απειλεί με εισβολή στο Ισραήλ, αλλά οι ΗΠΑ εξακολουθούν να εμπιστεύονται την τουρκική διαμεσολάβηση για να αποτρέψουν τον πόλεμο στη Μέση Ανατολή. Η στρατηγική σημασία της συνεργασίας του Ισραήλ με τη Σαουδική Αραβία και τις ΗΠΑ αναδείχθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια της ιρανικής επίθεσης. Η Τουρκία έπαιξε σημαντικό ρόλο στη συμφωνία ανταλλαγής κρατουμένων μεταξύ ΗΠΑ και Ρωσίας αλλά παραμένει αβέβαιο αν μπορεί να πείσει την Τεχεράνη να περιορίσει την επίθεσή της. Οι περιφερειακές χώρες προετοιμάζονται για το νέο πολιτικό τοπίο που μπορεί να διαμορφωθεί από τη σύγκρουση Ισραήλ- Ιράν. Αν και υπάρχουν αμφιβολίες για τη στάση της Τουρκίας, οι περιφερειακές χώρες πρέπει να προετοιμαστούν για την πιθανότητα εμπλοκής στον πόλεμο.
