Η Γιούλια Ναβάλναγια, σύζυγος του Αλεξέι Ναβάλνι, εξέφρασε χαρά και πικρία για τη ρωσική ανταλλαγή κρατουμένων που συνέβησαν επιλέγοντας αντιφρονούντες. Αν και είχε κινηθεί η υπόθεση για τον Αλεξέι, η ανταλλαγή έγινε με άλλους κρατούμενους. Η Ναβάλναγια αναφέρθηκε στον Πούτιν που συμφώνησε σε αυτή την ανταλλαγή, αλλά όχι για τον Αλεξέι. Επίσης, αποκάλυψε τα ονόματα των κρατούμενων που ακόμα κρατούνται στη Ρωσία, συμπεριλαμβανομένου και της ίδιας που δεν μπορεί να επιστρέψει λόγω νέας σύλληψης. Η ανταλλαγή έδωσε ελπίδα στην αντιπολίτευση, αλλά παραμένει ασαφές πώς θα επιδράσει στο μέλλον. Η Γιούλια Ναβάλναγια εξέφρασε χαρά για την απελευθέρωση και ενισχύει την ελπίδα ότι κάποια μέρα αυτό θα συμβεί και στη Ρωσία.
