Tsunami Warning Issued After 6.9-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan

A tsunami warning was in effect for southern Japan after an earthquake of magnitude 6.9 was reported Thursday afternoon.

A tsunami warning was issued for coastal regions on the southern ********* islands of Kyushu and Shikoku, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster, said it was for the Miyazaki and Kochi prefectures.
