St Joseph’s Primary School prepares to cheer on Kyle Lee’s Olympic campaign with Cheer for Kyle Day

A Bunbury school has gone all out to support a South West Olympian ahead of his Games debut.

St Joseph’s Primary School held its Cheer for Kyle Day last week ahead of Australind-raised swimmer Kyle Lee’s race set to take place in Paris on Friday.

The Lee family has strong connections to the school, with both Lee’s mother Lara and sister Courtney being staff members.

Students, teachers and other staff donned the green and gold on the day as they got into the Olympic spirit.

An assembly was held on the morning which saw classes come together to chat and sing songs.

The school made sure Lee knew they had his back and sent videos and photos to the young **** as he prepares to take on the men’s 10km marathon swim in the River Seine.

Family members have made the more than 14,000km trek to the French capital to watch the five-time Busselton Jetty Swim winner compete.

He qualified for the Games in February after finishing ninth in the 10km final of the World Aquatic Championships in Doha.

Lee’s race takes place at 1.30pm WA time on Friday.
