Ο Μίλτος Τεντόγλου κατάφερε να κερδίσει το χρυσό μετάλλιο στο άλμα μήκους στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες, αλλά αποκάλυψε ότι αντιμετώπισε πρόβλημα με τα παπούτσια του κατά τη διάρκεια του αγώνα. Μετά την απονομή, αναφέρθηκε στη σημασία της ανάκρουσης του εθνικού ύμνου και στη χαρά που του προκάλεσε η κατάκτηση του χρυσού μεταλλίου. Επισήμανε ότι η παρουσία των αγαπημένων του προσώπων στις κερκίδες και η παρουσία της ελληνικής σημαίας τον έκανε περήφανο. Αναλύοντας την εμφάνισή του στον αγώνα, εξέφρασε την ικανοποίησή του για την τεχνική του απόδοση παρατηρώντας τις λεπτομέρειες κάθε άλματος. Ωστόσο, αποκάλυψε ότι είχε ένα πρόβλημα με τα παπούτσια του, που τον ανάγκασε να φορέσει ένα καινούριο ζευγάρι στον αγώνα, χωρίς να έχει προλάβει να το συνηθίσει επαρκώς.
