Woodside boss Meg O’Neill says OCI ammonia plant a big step into transition

Woodside Energy boss Meg O’Neill has backed in the company’s $3.6 billion deal to buy a lower-carbon ammonia plant in Texas, as investors debate whether the move will deliver returns.

The Perth business is buying the under-construction project from Dutch outfit OCI Global and hopes to pump ammonia with much-reduced emissions as soon as 2026.
